Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGenerally the building and the room are “tired” with bathroom and external features needing refurbishment. Structurally limiting (narrow staircase and no lift though thankfully only two floors) it doesn’t have “old world charm” either, though is a refreshing change from most inner city hotels’ the bland corporate glass & steel high rise.
Good location ten minutes from Sea World metro connecting to airport and both train stations in 45 mins, plus plenty of lively nightlife, street food, bars and restaurants. Hotel is an oasis of calm with an outstanding restaurant very popular with local young professionals and serving a high class breakfast. Staff were very professional and welcoming, trying their best to get over language barrier.

Brazilthe only problem was the working hours of restaurant… as I arrived late night hungry, couldn’t have dinner . Breakfast should have a vegetarian option but they offered a nice solution.
Everything was perfect. I loved the villas and my pet was welcomed… just walking distance from Sea world and metro station. I will be back for sure !

CanadaEverything was great, only problem for me was that I had to leave early in the morning and could not enjoy their lovely breakfast.
Great location just outside Seaworld, but hidden away enough to feel like you were in a small town. Excellent room, and restaurant looked great too.

United KingdomDelightfully tranquil with an old fashioned simplicity and charm. Very good, unpretentious restaurant with seating inside or in the small but lovely garden. Excellent location once you get your bearings. Helpful, efficient staff and a most enjoyable experience.

United StatesThe beds are hard. What can you say; it’s a south China thing.
This hotel is a quiet little gem tucked away just steps from the bustle of Sea World and the Shekou port. I’ve stayed here many times, and it has such a chill, homey vibe you can’t help but love it. Years ago, the western breakfast used to be charming in a greasy-spoon-diner sort of way, but now it’s truly excellent. Perfectly cooked eggs, sausage with a hint of curry, focaccia slices… Looking forward to my next visit to Shekou!

United StatesThe hotel staff were super friendly, responsive, and were incredibly accommodating. The check in process was very smooth and the host took us to our room. When I went to the front desk to purchase some water, the receptionist just gave me for free and made sure we have enough. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is very close to Sea World, where lots of actions and great restaurants are located.

United KingdomNothing. I wish every hotel was as great as this one!
This is my favourite hotel in Shenzhen. The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by amazing gardens. The staff are really friendly, and the room is perfect - a good size, super comfortable bed, seating and working area, great bathroom. I've stayed here many times, and still can't fault it! The location is also amazing, 5 minutes walk into Seaworld, super convenient for the cross border ferry, and also easy for the Shenzhen Bay border crossing. The on site restaurant food is utterly delicious, and sitting on the terrace drinking coffee in the morning is the perfect start to the day. Looking forward to returning soon!

Perfect in every way. Not a cookie-cutter corporate luxury behemoth, but a small, friendly, personal hotel set in a lush garden. The restaurant is popular will the local in-crowd. This is really a gem. I hope it doesn’t get too discovered! I will always stay here when I am in Shenzhen.

The hotel was absolutely amazing, it exceeded our expectations. It was a proper quiet oasis in between the busy city. I personally stayed in Shenzhen before (different hotels in different districts) and this was the most quiet and comfortable hotel as per my experience.

NetherlandsThe airco was a bit noisy, but aren't they always?
The other reviews are correct: this little hotel is a real gem! It's a hidden paradise on a quiet side street away from the highrise towers. The staff are so friendly and always able to help with getting a taxi (even helping to settle the fare when you don't have Didi or WeChat) or booking ferry tickets Good breakfast, spotless clean, good firm mattresses and big enough beds to fit 1,9 m tall person Totally worth every yuan!
