How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Booked rooms for 5 people, but the rooms were equipped only for three + sofa. Same for my friends booked for three, but got only two beds!!!

I personally don’t like glass walls in bathroom and toilet but they have curtain, so it’s ok. I think it would be nice to have a place to put things in the shower - a hook
The staff is very welcome and helpful. Also we had everything we need including washing and dry machines - which was nice. Place is in the Hutong so it’s very local and colourful outside and modern inside. Very near the center and taxi is not expensive anyway

The location. It is not really walkable to the popular attractions or shopping districts. However, if you have the apps for China grabs/uber available that will make commuting much easier.
The staff were friendly and helpful making the stay very pleasant.

The hotel is located in the centre of Beijing walking distance to the central places of interest and close to the subway. The staff super friendly. We got to the hotel at 9 a.m. and were checked in that early so the kids could go and relax in the room after the long flight. We are very grateful for that. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was not a buffet, but tasty. Nice hotel in the old centre of Beijing!

Location is perfect. We had a nice family room for 4 people. All people at the front desk are kind and helpful. Especially Henry is a perfect host and consierge.

Sound insulation is bad, you can easily hear people talking outside the room, even in the mid-night. The breakfast is fixed menu without much choice.
The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. The room is cleaned everyday. The hotel is located in a relatively quiet Hutong.

We came back again to the hotel after a work trip to Shijiazhuang. Meanwhile, we could leave the luggage that we did not need in the hotel, which helped us a lot. Everyone was very supportive, just like at our first time here. The staff recommended the best ways to get to the places we wanted to visit, and organized Taxis for us, which was very convenient, as our European data packages for internet did not work properly to use WeChat on our own. Some earlier reviews complained about not 100% perfect clean bathrooms. We did not experience such issues, and also were aware about the fact that the hotel is located in a historical area (Hutong) of Beijing. Therefore, you should not expect a new building, which of course would be easier to maintain. You just cannot expect standards you may be used to from other parts of the world, We all, including our 4 year old son, were very happy about our stay in Happy Dragon Saga Hotel. We also loved to walk the street in front of the hotel and the Shija Hutong museum, which is free for ayone to visit, and introduces you to former and current city life in this area of Beijing.

I hope to bring my parents to this hotel once I come to Beijing again. The staff is so friendly & helpful, always ready to answer all the questions. I got the free upgrade of the room for my second stay. Definitely recommended! The location is great, close to the city centre. And the experience of living in Beijing's hutong is remarkable, another world.
