The rooms were great, we loved the little courtyard and the great coffee and beers. There was fresh fruit out every morning to help yourself to, our three year old twins loved it. The owners helped us with some great trip suggestions slightly off the beaten path

The room is a little small but not a big problem. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again should I go to Shangri-La City again.

Very prompt replies on WeChat and the host picked us up from "Deqen Passenger Transport" bus station (迪庆藏族自治州客运). The hostel is located at the edge of the ancient town area where the roads are stone paved and cars aren't allowed to drive in. Yet it's short enough a walk after alighting from the car that having big luggage like us didn't find any problems. Also the host was very helpful to carry the heavier luggage. The place is quiet and homey and the host brothers are friendly and willing to help. Both Guishan Park (龟山公园) and Yueguang Plaza (月光广场) are just around the corner. Excellent location!

The walls are paper thin so if you have noisy neighbours, make sure you bring earplugs (although they are provided, too!) The "mountain view" room is a little misleading. Yes, you can see the temple , but you are facing other houses for the most part. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but don't get your hopes up! The shower was a bit smelly due to the drains and a curtain is used instead of a door so privacy is comprised a little bit, but this did not affect our stay.

The family was extremely friendly and couldn't help us enough - even taking me around time to try and find some new shoes! It was a pleasure to meet them and you couldn't ask for nicer hosts. The location is perfect: you are a 1 minute walk from the famous temple and park. There is a heater in the room to keep warm and to dry your clothes.

Beautiful Tibetan decorated place in the old town of Shangri La . The room was very comfy and warm even tho outside was pretty cold . Presidente and Lebron were very helpful with us with recommendations and any question we had :) Definitely recommend!

Water temperature fluctuates a little and lights in the bathroom are dim.

Extremely authentic place, yet with great comfort. The style and vibe are really special. Top location too, and very friendly hosts with good English that offer free pickup from station.

I really like my room, I absolutely love this style of furnishing. I also really appreciated the electric blanket. In the reception area, one can sit comfortably and meet other travellers. The location is absolutely amazing, right in the old city center. I did all my sightseeing by walking from the hostel.

Kunga and his wife were very kind and hospitable hosts. They picked us up for free from the High Speed Rail station. Gave us a lot of travel information that made our stay in Shangri La an enjoyable one. Room was cosy and very clean. Heater and electric blanket in the room were enough to keep us warm in the cold winter. Located inside the Duzekong ancient town, food is easily available just outside the guesthouse. Highly recommended!!

Bedrooms can be a bit chilly but once you understand how the heater works it gets better, and they have electric matress which is wonderful.

The host Ama and her sons are so lovely and helpful. They helped us countless times and felt us very welcome, especially at night in front of fire with warm tea :) the hostel is beautiful In the heart of the old city, it was a perfect stay

The only problem to me was the gaps in the door and in the windows that allow cold air to enter. The portable heater helps a lot though.

Lovely tibetan house, high attention to details and beautiful place. The staff is very kind and helpful giving tips on what and where to eat and what to do. The location in the old town is great! Definitely will stay again.
