Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe walls and windows are paper thin so you hear everything: people talking outside, dogs barking on the street etc. lucky on request the staff moved me to a quieter room but something to be aware of as a light sleeper
Really social, chill hostel. Nice hang out areas, friendly staff, and lots of activities planned

United StatesTypical country noises—roosters, dogs, horses—could bother light sleepers. Earplugs are helpful.
Great design and location. Room was big with two double beds and a hammock. Nice hot shower. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice interactions with other travelers.

United KingdomIf I HAD to choose something, I'd say the kitchen could be more well equipped with cutlery.
Really comfortable hostel in a great location, a short walk from the centre of Salento. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have everything you need (lockers, curtains, lamps, plug sockets). The common spaces are also really nice and there's always somewhere to just chill out. It was easy to meet people here thanks to the activities, but also easy to get a good sleep as there's no loud music/bar - a perfect balance!

FranceI really recommend this hostel ! The staff is the nicest i have ever seen in a hostel, especially Karen ! They are happy to help and have the best recommandations ! The beds are really comfy and there are hot showers ! They organize many activities where you can meet people if you are travelling solo : dinners to local restaurants, tejo, salsa. The view is also really beautiful. Couldn’t recommend this place enough !

SerbiaThe Internet was not that good. There is no proper space to work - in the common areas it’s not possible because the staff said I was making too much noise because it was super early in the morning, even though I was being pretty quiet. In the end, I had to interrupt my business call and move to the yard and finish it there. They charge for all the little things - pay by card, towel, lose a card to the room.
The location was good, ten minutes walking from the main square where you can get a jeep ride to Valle de Cócora. Could leave my luggage both before and after check in. Boots available for rent at 10.000 COP (but next to the valley entrance it’s 6.000 COP).

United StatesNada!
This is absolutely the best place to stay, so close to everything easily walkable to the center of town, but also perched on the hillside overlooking nature. The facilities were perfect. Location was terrific. Having free, coffee and tea and a beautiful chill out common space was very appreciated.

United KingdomNeed to invest in some new bunk beds, some of them are very creaky.
I highly recommend this hostel! The staff are so friendly and helpful, they serve a cheap breakfast each morning and you can arrange excursions from reception. It’s a short walk from the main square and transport. It’s also a great place to meet other travellers too with a great community vibe, this isn’t a party hostel at all. I recommend bringing earplugs, the doors are super heavy and you can hear them slam.

GreeceIt could be cleaner, but it was fine compared to other places in colombia where the standards are not so high anyway. They should warn the people who stay in one of the dormitories that you need to get hot water by opening the cold water tub.
The atmosphere is great.. every person who works there is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms as well. The garden is very nice and I loved the flowers that are there.

United KingdomHad a great stay here. Really recommend. Lovely staff who are always happy and helpful. It is set in a beautiful building so you get that boutique feel. Lovely breakfast options and lots of info regarding what to do in and around Salento. Coffee farm tours, amazing hikes, downhill mountain bike tours, spas and thermals, give them a try! They have chilled evening get togethers if you want to meet other travellers. I would say this place is suitable for all people. Quiet time after 10pm and it's set on the edge of town with stunning views. This was my final stop of a 4 month trip and I can not think of a better accommodation. Highly recommend and once again thanks to ALL the AMAZING staff, well done.
