while the hotel has an elevator, there are still steps to get to your room.

the location was just superb and you can walk a few hundred yards to the main square and to other sites. The room I shared with my sister-in-law was large and nicely decorated - the whole place has an old-world feel to it. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard for Colombia with lots of choices. The bar was a good place to meet other travelers but it was a little weird that it didn't have tables, just chairs. There is a restaurant on the top floor with decent food.

The decor is rather tired and in my opinion , could do with a few coats of paint and the furniture in the eating areas could be changed for something more comfortable .

The staff and the location . I had a meal (beef) in the restaurant downstairs which was very good .

No plain yoghurt for breakfast, only fruit-flavoured. One of bedside lights not working. No complimentary bottles of water in the bedroom and no tissues. Otherwise all perfect.

I feel the hotel is slightly overpriced for the standard of room and breakfast delivered. 5 star price for 4 star hotel!

This was our third stay at this hotel. Each time we have had rooms in the newer art deco wing. The rooms are spacious and have baths. Everything is comfortable and clean. The staff are extremely helpful. Location is excellent just minutes from the large square. Breakfast is very nice with usual cereals, fruits, yoghurt, Juice, various hot items and pastries/ toast. They kindly provided rice crackers for me as I am Gluten Free Eating options are limited in the area but we managed to find some favourites Origenes Cafe , La Brujas and Marche Cafe in the Botero museum.

My room was in the 7th floor, this looks like a new wing on the building . One has to walk thru some narrow hallway to get to the lift

Couldn't control the temperature of the room. There is a panel on the wall, but we tried turning the temperature up a few times, and it just kept resetting to the original low temp. The TV is quite old so we couldn't cast our phone when we wanted a chilled morning or to watch something as we were getting ready to go out, and there were no English channels. The balcony is tiny and unusable as a balcony. This was quite disappointing as we love to sit and watch the world go by while deciding what to do the next day. Beds were also super hard, which might work for some people, but just gave us both sore backs.

Calling reception from our room phone was quite difficult and though room service is offered, it wasn’t overly clear how we can order it.

It was the worst shower I have ever encountered

For us, the location was perfect. We were on a street that was closed to traffic so it was quiet. It was in walking distance of all of the museums and other sites. It was not close to nightlife so if that is important this may not be for you but taxis were inexpensive if you wanted to go for more upscale restaurants or nightlife. We liked the local places on candalaria. The room was comfortable and a nice breakfast.

Lift is not always working. Sound proofing in 7th floor bedroom is not good.

Great location in the historic centre. Can walk to great street graffiti, gold museum and restaurants. Lovely big bed. Big room. Staff very helpful.
