Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkThe locals burn plastic trash at the beach - but that's something outside of our control.
The beach is beautiful. During the weekend, there are local people celebrating life, during the week it is rather calm with the mighty ocean at your doorstep. Amazing food (if you eat fish)! The hike to Playa de los Deseos is worth the effort, huge, empty beach about 45 minutes walking through the jungle. If the electricity works, the internet is also pretty good.

The energy of the place as soon as you land on the beach infront of the hostel attracts you and you soon wish you could stay there longer than planned. Very clean facilities, very comfortable and homey place. Staff with big heart and in you can feel they put alot of love and effort in the hostel. Loved the tiny details that made the place feel like home. Delicious food and chef using fresh ingredients every day (fish in a million ways). Lots of hikes and activities to do around. Thanks Adrian and the team for this beautiful experience:)

ColombiaAmazing location, accessible by boat from the town. Loved sitting in the hammocks and reading then going for a swim in the sea. The food was great, loved the fish at lunch. They also arranged a whale watching trip for us and we saw several humpbacks jumping - it was amazing!

FranceNot much :) people just have to consider that there is a boat to take from the airport to the hostel to get there.
The location of the hostel in front of the beach, the cleanness of the place, the services offered by the hostel, and the family environment created by Adrian and Lina. Great hostel.

United KingdomMy favourite place in Colombia. The hostel is perfectly situated on a beautiful beach and run by Adrian and Lina who are very kind and always on hand to help. They offer trips to see the waterfalls, turtles and, most importantly, to go whale watching. The dorms are clean, comfortable and well presented. I'd recommend Mr Jerry to anyone wanting a glimpse of paradise.

NetherlandsWe stayed three nights and it was an amazing experience! The location is very remote and only accessable by boat. The owner organized that we were picked up from the airport. He is very nice and will ensure that your stay is great. The hostel is directly on the beach and is a great place to relax a couple of days. A lot of activiteit are organized if you don't feel like relaxing. The whale watching tour we did was incredible! There aren't really other restaurants so you eat 3 times a day at the hostel. They have their own cook and the food was really nice. Fresh fish for lunch and diner. Hoping I will get the chance te be back one day. Definitively recommend staying here!

SwitzerlandThere was no market place, therefore you have to pay a bigger amount for drinks and food. Was not too expensive but when you want to prepare some own food it is gonna be expensive.
Super friendly staff, serving great food from their own kitchen, they have a really good chef. The owner made the best out of my trip and gave me many recommendations and did also a whale watching tour. I felt personally appreciated to be there.

An amazing place in a cute fisherman village, far from touristic crowds, very local vibe. You can enjoy the majestic beach almost completely by yourself, noone is going to bother you here, so it's perfect to relax and connect with the nature. You can go for a walk to explore nearby forest. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a great time laughing and chatting. I hurt my back accidentally and Johanna helped me to stretch it. Adrian, Lina (owners) and Augusto (volunteer) went out of their way to prepare a variety of simple, but delicious and filling vegan dishes. There are cute pets you can play with. My room was cozy and nicely decorated with an ocean view. The cleanness is exceptional. The whale-watching trip was phenomenal. It is definitely the place to be.

United StatesThe owner was not able to coordinate with other hotel owners to coordinate activities. As I was not a part of a larger group, the tours would have been too expensive. We were a 20 minute boat ride from Bahía Solano but there were houses all around us on Playa Nuihi. I left 2 days early due to the lack of things to do.
The space was clean and my private room was nicely decorated. The food was good and as varied as it could be given the isolated location.

MaltaNot even sure where to start really, the owners act like they are miserable, burnt out and hate their job and in some passive aggressive way make you feel guilty for being on holiday. There's no actual glass on the windows so you have zero control over the elements, but I guess that's not even half as bad as the fact that they gatekeep the water so every time you have to shower you need to ask permission and then wait till someone actually switches on the pump. If they've happened to go to sleep (after 9pm) then good luck taking a shower, or washing your hands, or flushing a toilet for that matter unless you're willing to scoop water out of a barrel with a plastic cup - way better options in the area, do your research.
The location of this place is absolutely fantastic as it's right on the beach, the food is also really really good.

SwitzerlandWe did not have the best time at Mr. Jerry Hostal. When arriving in Bahía solano we were kind of surprised that we had to find our way to the port and search for a boat that would transport us to the Huína beach. It seems kind of logical that the beach is only reachable by boat, but a tiny hint before would have been nice. When we arrived at the hostel, nobody knew who we are or which one would be our room, so we had to wait for 1 hour untill Mr. Jerry arrived. When we asked him about the lack of moskito-nets in the rooms ( which are promised on Booking) he told us that this is a healthy village and therefore there is no need for mosquito nets? The food was quite delicious. Although, the portions are quite small. If you ask for more rice or bread because you are still hungry you get as an answer that the food is portioned and there is nothing more (We are still searching for the logic in same portion sizes for everyone regardless their age, gender or weight). The food is quite expensive (20’000 for Breakfast and 30’000 for both lunch and dinner). As the meals consist mostly of fish, rice and patacones, this seems rather expensive (in the village nearby you can get exactly the same for half the price). If you do not eat fish or are vegetarian, it will be quite difficult for you at this place. In the village there are not really other options to eat, therefore, you are really dependent on them cooking for you. There are a couple of activities you can book. These are super expensive (we are travelling since 5 weeks in Colombia and never was anything that expensive). You can accompany Mr. Jerry fishing for 5 hours (300’000 p.P.) and then pay again for eating the fish you fished yourself, which we found quite strange. As well the other activities come in prices of 150’000+ for half a day. If you do not book any tours, there isn’t really a lot to do in Huína so there is the danger of getting bored quite fast. The nights sadly are quite loud.
The food was good and the beach is nice.

ColombiaThe rooms don't have windows. Sometimes other guests were making noise drinking or listening to music until 11pm when we went outside and asked them to turn it down. Also one night the next door property had very loud music until 10/10:30pm. Obviously this wasnt the fault of Mr Jerry hostal.
Beautiful beach. Wonderful whale watching trip. Nice food. Our room had a sea view.
