“Laid back vibe hostel run by good people. Upstairs hammock/lounge area was a great alternative to the midday heat. The nearby beach is huge and great for swimming and surfing - ask about tides beforehand. Cool activity programme on offer. My room had a fan and decent mosquito net over the bed, however I found night-time to be cool enough to go without the fan. Bar downstairs can be noisy (it's a hangout for locals and staff mostly) but clears up by 11pm latest.”
“We absolutely loved our stay! Celmira and her family were so nice and made sure we had everything we needed and were safe when we went on excursions (nearby town with Thermal water and little bars and shops (30min walking), and a waterfall (1,5h walking). The food was incredible, we're still talking about it haha. Super chill area, not much to do but relax and enjoy the moment. Stayed for 3 nights which was the perfect length. The property is really small, we were the only guests, which was nice after a few weeks of travelling. Loved the down-to-earth vibe with bucket showers and honest conversations with the hosts.”
“The beach is beautiful. During the weekend, there are local people celebrating life, during the week it is rather calm with the mighty ocean at your doorstep. Amazing food (if you eat fish)! The hike to Playa de los Deseos is worth the effort, huge, empty beach about 45 minutes walking through the jungle. If the electricity works, the internet is also pretty good.”
“Maricela and her husband are the perfect hosts. They gave us a very hartly welcome and helped us in every way possible (planning activities, recommendations, charging phones). The hostal has solar panels and a battery so we could as well enjoy the ventilator during the night.
The hostal is at the edge of the town and is quiet. We had a very nice stay here.”
“Our private room was super comfortable and had a very effective mosquito net. While the facilities are simple, we had everything we needed for our laid back stay in the amazing village of Termales. The best thing about the property were our amazing hosts Doña Nena and Don Lincer and their son Nilson. They cooked us delicious food, gave us great advice for the area, and helped load us on and off the boat when we arrived/left the village. They even lent us a machete to crack open a coconut we found on a beach hike! Such a wonderful place :)”
