Best hostel I ever stayed in. Lovely comfortable rooms, nice food and bar facilities, massive TV for watching football, lovely smoking terrace upstairs, showers nice and clean and staff were brilliant with anything you need help with.

I was at this hostel Feb 2023 and March 2024 on separate trips. I note that most of the staff are still there and very professional and positive. Well integrated into the local scene, their excellent English etc means they can get you sorted for tours quickly. Very impressive operation and super friendly staff!

Great, friendly and competent staff. Super clean rooms. Very safe. Much space to hang out and socialize. Very good location in La Candelaria. Airport Driver Emiro is a super nice and kind guy!

very minor and to be expected in a hostel with many guests -- sometimes it was a busy noisy while i was sleeping. I used earplugs and was fine.

The staff at Cranky Croc are absolutely fabulous. Every single person was friendly and helpful. I stayed 5 nights and couldnt have been happier with my choice. Many tours use the hostel as a starting point, which is very convenient. The front desk can also help set up other tours if you need assistance. The food and beverage options at the bar/restaurant were great (I don't eat meat) and I think the daily cocoa leaf tea saved me from altitude troubles. I stayed in a private room with a private bath and found the room to be very nice.

Your own space within the dorm, but loved the communal area to and relax for yourself, but also socializing. They organise a lot through the hostel which is nice and the quality of tours is good too :)

Due to the small private compartment in combination with the thin air in 2700m altitude the air got very sticky during the night and no chance to open a window, except your compartment is the one at the window

In the dormitory where I stayed, everyone has their private compartment that could be closed with a curtain. Although it was small, it was big enough to change clothes and feel some privacy, that's really nice. The breakfast options are great and the cappuccino the best in colombia so far

Comfortable rooms and hot showers, the pods were great and more private, none of the rooms had any locks but felt safe. Chill but social place (not party) with lots of organised activities, food was good for breakky, good location in Candelaria.

This is my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are clean and modern. The vibes were unmatched - it’s sociable enough that you can go out if you want to, while being quiet enough that you can just chill if you prefer. From the moment I walked in it felt like home. Great location, too!

It would have been nice to have the room cleaned once over the 5 days. It would also be good if they had tea and coffee available in the kitchen.

I like the location and whole set up. It had good vibes and the people were mostly friendly. They are very well organised and you could ask for help on anything. Easy to meet people. They offer food all through the day. I had a private room which was very comfortable

Cranky Croc is a wonderful hostel in the historical city center of Bogota! It is a nice place to meet fellow travellers from all over the world. We appreciated not only our stay but also the multiple options of tours you can book at the hostel directly. We did the famous hike to the tallest waterfall in Colombia - La Chorrera and it was just epic! The hostel itself is very home-like with the main room and seats around the table so you can always find someone to talk to and make new friends. Not counting happy friendly staff.

Tiny bit noisy.

Best place I’ve stayed in! The hostel is located in a great area with everything you need walking distance. The in- and exterior is very well thought of, beautiful details, lighting 10/10. Friendly staff who’d help you with everything from airport shuttle to vegetarian food etc. Various people stay here, easy to make contact. Tip: drink your morning coffee on the beautiful terrace.

The kitchen could do with a few more utensils and cooking essentials (salt, pepper, oil) and it would be great if tea/coffee were complimentary. The restaurant seemed quiet which was a shame when sometimes there were two, if not three, guys working with not much to do. Maybe a two for one offer might get more hostel visitors using it? Or a free welcome drink?

Best hostel we stayed at whilst in Colombia! It set the standard very high. The staff were fantastic, so welcoming and went out of their way to help. Really comfortable rooms (photos didn’t do it justice) Beautiful decor throughout and so clean. Lovely communal areas, great touch having the table tennis table. We had breakfast from the restaurant one morning and it was delicious. Location was great, in the heart of Bogotá old town.
