Beautiful rooms, new-ish furnishings. Great location a skip from Ponte 16. Great local food options just 5min walk from the hotel. Short walk to main sights.

Our particular room was clean. Others who stayed all complained of heavy cigarette smell in their rooms.

I have stayed at The Venetian before and booked to stay here as a birthday treat for my wife based on my past experience here. This turned out to be a poor decision. Upon arrival at The Venetian, the queue to check in was two hours long due to a computer malfunction. As a result, we decided to return later and while we were able to complete the check in and pay for the room I had booked, we were then informed that there was actually no availability for the type of room I had booked weeks in advance. The hotel staff were exceptionally slow to pass on this news to me and there were no apologies or acceptable offers of compensation to make up for this mistake, like a room upgrade. We managed to get a refund on our room but given my previous experiences at The Venetian, the reputation of the hotel and the fact that I booked this for my wife's birthday, I was exceptionally disappointed and wouldn't want to stay here again.

The deposit policy. I don’t have a credit card, only a debit card which works internationally, and the deposit required is $1000MOP per night, so I had to withdraw $3000MOP for the deposit and then got it back on the last day when I’m leaving Macao and have no use for it. I then lose the equivalent of $300-400MOP exchanging the currency back to $AUD at the airport. I can understand taking some form of deposit, but it’s shouldn’t be so high. I travel a lot and when just in China and faced this situation at the Hyatt they waived the deposit requirement, as does Singapore.

I requested room move view of the macau tower with pay 100 mop and i ask the reception to help me move my two bags to the new room, however in the night i received a call rudely asking me to go back and why i left my two bag in the room 3009, even though i explain my current situation and i handover to the reception my two bags, she keeps interrupting me that is not their concern and claiming that the hotel is fully book. I try to convince the reception that i cant come right away due to my current location is too far, and she insist that i go back and asking me what time? What time?, while I’m speaking, when i tell i can come to the hotel within 30 mins she said no we are fully booked! So i immediately came back to hotel via taxi, since its a family trip i tried not to cause a seen, the riviera hotel management should take investigation regarding this matter for now will not recommend this hotel to my friend or family.
