This is a great backpackers. The staff is lovely and very helpful. The food is amazing. The bar has a pool table and a jacuzzi, and they organize karaoke evenings some times. There are two kitchen areas, one inside and one outside, with barbecue area. There is a big TV room with all main streaming services in vase you get a rainy day. The outside area is beautiful. Great for reading a book while enjoying the countryside landscape. They have a very efficient laundry service. The private rooms are comfortable. The location of the backpackers is very good. Close enough to northern drakensberg paths, and other activities in the area.

Fantastic place to stay overlooking the Central Drakensberg. So peaceful being a few KMs off the main route into Champagne Valley. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and although was a bit chilly when I stayed, I imagine in the summer the swimming pools will be a blessing. Jason helped me book and offered some great advice on what to do in the area.

The accommodation did not include breakfast, which we knew in advance. This did not bother us, as we do not have big breakfasts. We appreciated the large jug of milk and tea/coffee that was available. Pete had very good suggestions for lunch and dinners. The quality of the food was great.

Modern city townhouse with rooftop terrace

The property is central and newly renovated. Heidi has given a lot of attention to detail on what might be needed, it’s a real home away from home. Our breakfasts on the rooftop terrace were a lovely start to the day with coffee and pastries we sourced from the local cafes.

Just make sure you have the location pinned when first arriving as Google maps doesn’t show the access road. Not a big deal though, we figured it out quickly.
