How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything was great will come again.
The peaceful location. Kids loved the pony ride and interacting with the farm animals. Staff is very attentive. Perfect halfway stop between Gauteng and the coast.

Nothing, was a peaceful stay.
Fantastic place to stay overlooking the Central Drakensberg. So peaceful being a few KMs off the main route into Champagne Valley. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and although was a bit chilly when I stayed, I imagine in the summer the swimming pools will be a blessing. Jason helped me book and offered some great advice on what to do in the area.

the last section of the road - glad we didn't have to drive in the rain But that was not the venues fault
What a wonderful to celebrate my mom's 80th Jason went beyond our expectations to organise a cake The food was wonderful and the people working in the dining room area was so sufficient We plan to visit again

I booked for a rondavel room, but got a different room.
Location was perfect. Didn't have any challenges when we arrived after midnight.

I didn't stay long enough
Great location, good food. I couldn't recommend Ardmore highly enough. Ardmore was extremely responsive and addressed my queries very quickly.

We gave our laundry on day 1 before 10 in the morning and it was not ready the day after despite their advertising...Clothes were still kind of wet, they lost one sock of my baby boy, and some were not washed at all (the ones with unfortunate vomit on...they gave them back to us in the plastic bag...we went for the laundry for those ones notably). Not a big deal honestly but that's margin for improvement :)
Nice lodge at the farm, with many animals on the site and horse riding for the kids. View on the Drakensberg mountains, but too many lights at night for security obsession) so impossible to see the stars - too bad. The lodges are old-fashioned like time stopped decades ago. But it's charming, everything works (beware of the load shedding) and the beds were perfect (and much more recent matresses that the rest of the furniture). Kids friendly with many equipments, nice restaurant and wine cave, generous breakfast, I higly recommand the place if you plan to spent time in the region!!

Electricity cuts were anonying , the cottages could use some renovation, noisy electric power supply in the living room

Milk kept going off. Chips at lunch were overdone.
Breakfast was good. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Location is peaceful. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

The electricity and internet did not work more than half the time due to load shedding. Owners are preparing to install solar panels to help with that.

I struggled with the heat when load shedding hit - I understand that this is something out of Ardmore Guest Farm's control though and I saw that inverters have been installed.
We had a very warm welcome from Jason, who was so friendly and efficient. The included breakfast was great. We had a nice range of breakfast options to choose from. Thandi was an excellent server!

Staff were very accommodating of our baby. Meals were great, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Room was comfortable. Nice to have the farm animals around for the children to look at.

I didn't like that the WiFi wasn't always working but that's the only issue I had.
The staff were super friendly and really nice to talk to. They were very helpful and accommodating. There was lots of access to information with regards to things to do in the area and also lots of activities to do on-site as well.

Great atmosphere and service. Enjoyed the breakfast and dinners, good quality and well priced. Well located in R600 area with many attractions. Pony / horse rides available. Enjoyed the staff and the library as well as the activities available. Many walks available on property and nearby.
