Would have liked coffee fixings in the room but the reception door opened at 6:30 am and graciously gave me two coffees.

The fruit tray was delicious as was the juice. We showed up about 20 minutes before our time and the staff was gracious.

The doors were quite squeaky, then need some WD40 :) Also the front door lock was very weak.

Beautiful location. You could sit outside the cabina and watch the sunset over Nicoya peninsula and the Pacific. Two big rooms with two beds - one double and one single - in each room. Helpful staff for suggestions of activities. Very good breakfast prepared by order.

The location is very good. The place is quiet, away from bizzy streets, surrounded by nature. Cabinas are specious, clean, and bright. There is a nice nature trail in the property. The kitchen is big and well equipped.

The kitchen area had zero condiments/spices for guests. We were able to procure some salt/pepper shakers from the main lodge, but some cooking oil and spices would have been a nice gesture.

Our stay was lovely. We appreciated the two bedrooms and the lovely deck overlooking the forest. The pathway around the property was lovely. We enjoyed walking around, birdwatching, and visiting the cows at the farm. Our daughters enjoyed the glass window seats in each room, which they used each morning to read. The water in the showers was hot, the water pressure was excellent, and the living room/kitchen was spacious.

With breath taking views and very quiet. The big windows makes it easy to enjoy the view from the beautiful window seats. We stayed in the rainbow house and loved it. We heard and saw the wildlife just outside our window. Cooking facility was a nice touch, making breakfast or early dinner before a jungle night tour was so convenient.

Beds were good enough but not amazing. Kitchen could use more supplies like salt and pepper, more hand towels, dish rack.

The vista from our caben was magnificent, we were walking distance to restaurants, bakery, and grocery stores, and a beautiful jungle trail. Samir, our host, greeted us warmly and arranged for us to go on a night walk at the farm right next door. Beautiful wood furniture and finishing touches.

The common area missed some sort of couch or armchairs. We had only wooden bench that was better for outdoor. Maybe if they had pillows for it.. no a/c and we were not comfortable opening windows (ants etc…).

We stayed in the Sunset house, which was just perfect for our family of two adults and two children; two separate rooms with their own bath, separated by an excellent and fully equipped kitchen. And what a location and view! Being eager birders, it was hard to keep the eyes on the kettles due to all the bird life passing by the porch all the time! The house is beautifully situated quite high up, providing a wide view. Standing at the porch you're just in height with the trees around, and it was marvellous to see all the birds passing through in the vegetation at close range, as well as flying at some longer distances; toucans, hummingbirds, chacalacas, guans, bown jays etc.

Nothing to be done about this, but be aware the last section of road up from Santa Elena to Cabinas is impressively potholed and steep. Maybe a quarter mile. Not a problem with SUV, but might be a bit challenging in a low-clearance sedan. We walked into and back from downtown Santa Elena, which is doable but a bit of a puff given ups and downs.

Cabinas is located close to downtown Santa Elena on road to several popular attractions (Selvatura & Sky Adventures), but also has a secluded feel with wonderful views out across the valley with frequent rainbows and lovely sunsets (see photos from porch). Very nice having two bedrooms, two bathrooms and small kitchen for our family of 4. Breakfast was served for modest additional cost and was good.

The water heater broke, and the owners were trying to fix it while we were there.

There was a choice of breakfast and the food was fresh, delicious and ready when promised. The views are phenomenal! The wi-fi worked well all around the property. We arrived in a shuttle pretty late, and the owners helped us to get a taxi to go to dinner in the center.

The wind at night was very loud, but I think like in a lot of places in Monteverde. If you sensitive to sounds, better have earplugs :)

We had a big beautiful house with two bedrooms. There is a terrase, where we spend time in the evenings and nice green space in front of the house, where we had our breakfasts. From the house you have a nice sunset view. The stuff was very friendly.
