I spent a week at this hostel and really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very personable and helpful. Per other's comments about the house being older, it is true but everything worked well and the wifi was excellent. Adored the coffee! The hostel was cleaned daily and throughout the day. Excellent resources available on buses, attractions, tours etc. Neighborhood was safe and near the university so a good variety of restaurants nearby.

Any request from you will be despised. I request a clean pillow case because it smells used. But I was thrown a pillow without any respect. I had to used my own clothes to cover the pillow as a pillow case.

This was my first time in this hostel. I had a room with private bathroom away from the street and I was quiet after 9pm even though it was full the days I stayed, even though there is no sound proof at all in the hostel. The room smells fresh. I was satisfied so I was back again almost a month later when I need to be around UCR. But the second time was a disaster.

Super clean and comfortable and felt like home. Great pancake for breakfast with a smiley face. Thanks Marc for the help and advice and all the efforts. My second time here and definitely will do again!

Was hot and humid as usual in Costa Rica. The fan in the room was essential.

The large pancake for breakfast with apples and bananas was delicious and a nice complement to the stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the info provided on what to see in the area and how to catch buses

It would've been nice to get some more information, for example how to get to the center or how to travel by bus. It's a little walk to the center (30/45 mins).

The staff was very friendly, the facilities were adequate, breakfast was the same every day but more than enough and had some fresh fruit. The room matched the price; not too comfortable, but fine for a couple of days.

Only complaint is that the bottom bunk was quite high so you couldn't sit up on the bed without hitting your head on the top bunk.

The breakfast was a big pancake, it was really nice. The beds were comfortable and all had their own curtains, light and socket so that was nice. There were plenty of bathrooms with hot water and seemed clean. Kitchen was also fully equipped, but I couldn't find any oil when I was there. I only stayed one night as a layover, but it was comfortable.

I stayed for two nights by myself, and very much enjoyed the overall vibe of the place. The pancakes in the morning were delicious and the staff were friendly. I will absolutely stay here again if I am back in San Jose.

We had nothing to complain about!

It was just as described, in a safe location and very clean. We arrived there with a lot of luggage and Marc at the front desk was so nice to help us carry our luggage to our private room on the first floor. We left early the next day but we wished we could of stayed longer. Definitely recommend this place!

The guy at the front desk was beyond helpful. He told us about the best restaurant and where to find anything. He helped with the luggage and made an excellent breakfast pancake. He even helped us with uber as the taxis were way expensive.

The lighting could be better, and it's very odd that there is no mirror in the bathroom to shave, etc.

The host was friendly; the room was a very good size with plenty of storage, and the bed was comfortable

One bunk bed was quite squeaky so it caused some irritation.

Location is great, hot water in the shower and breakfast included.

It is a really cute place, not far from center. We’ve been welcomed very nicely and met friendly people during breakfast (which is, by the way, excellent especially if you like big big pancakes) The bathrooms and kitchen were not extra comfy but super clean :)

There was all the time lots of traffic on the street behind the window of the room and that's why it was not an ideal place for sleeping especially because the window could not be closed. There wasn't any kind of mirror in the room.

This hostel is a good choice for anyone who wants a private room for a reasonable price. The person at the reception was really helpful. The hostel was furnished and decorated in a unique and colorful way.

Can't use the kitchen before 8am and after 10pm cause there are some bedrooms located near the kitchen.

The hostel was kept clean and has a warm shower. It's also located at a walking distance to a mall, Banco Nacional and the bus stop to San Jose.
