The pool isn't maintained very well, and could use a serious cleaning

Building work going on opposite when we stayed so quite noisy! Obviously out of the control of the hostel, but bare in mind.

Lots of road construction in and around hostel so it gets dusty with vehicles going by and with hot wind. I like to cook in hostels and despite the many knives, none of them are sharp enough to cut through meat so more vegetable based meals than I am used to. Which is part of pura vida lifestyle?

Location was great, easy walkable distance to beach, supermarkets and shops. The pool, plants, hammocks and ample sitting areas in the shed are so welcomed in the hot and humid afternoons. So is the cold filtered water! The privacy curtains in dorm beds are a win for me to keep out the light and also to ward off the AC in the night. Love the staff and a special shout out to Florencia from Argentina and the night guy who left me alone to finish some work in the kitchen area until midnight. And of course the non-stop cleaning ladies!

The place was great, the room was large enough and the bed was confortable. The staff was really helpful and gave us some good advice. We wish we could have stayed longer but the hostel was fully booked. There was a swimming pool and the beach was within walking distance. Also giod restaurants were nearby. AC was working correctly.

The mattresses are not super comfortable. A lot of noise (music and people) until 11pm and the rooms are not well soundproofed. But it is a hostel, so kind of expected. Would greatly recommend anyway. (Had to pay taxes on top of prices listed, normally these show up in the app)

The mattress on the main bed was lumpy and the springs were noticeable against my back so I ended up having to move to the bunk bed, which is ok when traveling solo, but with a partner or a family it would've been unacceptable. The slotted windows facing out toward the common area also meant that any sounds sounded as if they were in my room, and I was awoken before 7 am each morning by something as simple as people sweeping or chatting outside. The rooms facing that way should be more soundproofed.

Nice common areas, good kitchen, and the pool was comfortable and clean. The employees were nice and pleasant, and ready to help whenever I needed something. The free, cold water in reception was a nice touch.

The bedclothes and towels were really worn out! Personally, I would throw them all away and buy new ones. This is a shame as it affected the overall impression.

The hostel had a really good atmosphere and the swimming pool was very nice. The room had a lot of counter space for things and a drying rack. You could also book a turtle excursion from the hostel, which was absolutely brilliant. The tour guides were a married couple who really invested in us seeing the turtles (and respecting them).

This hostel was close to the centre of Tamarindo. Anna was an excellent host. Kitchen facilities were good. Had coffee upstairs on the balcony overlooking the great cooling off pool after going to see the fabulous sunset & body surfing on the waves at the beach.

It’s on a busy dirt road that can get very hectic and dusty. Parking isn’t the greatest; park out front of you can as that’s where they have cameras. Never hurts to be safe!

Very kind and friendly staff! When I was as late to check-in due to traffic issues, they reached out to me and assured me they were waiting! Anna was very kind and gave me lots of advice when I had questions. Very cute cat named chocolate. Walking close to everything you’d want in Tamarindo. Not fancy, but has what you need. They staff make this place! Gracias!

The beds and the linnen weren’t great (my matras cover kept getting unstuck throughout the night). Bathroom isn’t extremely clean or anything, showers isn’t hot (but you don’t need that when it’s 30 degrees Celsius outside)

Awesome atmosphere, definitely some of the best stays I had in CR. The staff is incredibly friendly, there’s a surfcamp going on there as well, and even if you’re not enrolled in it, you get kinda sucked into the vibe and end up going out every night. Surfing classes were great and not expensive. There’s free coffee all day long, and the kitchen is well equipped. The swimming pool is great. We had a very nice barbecue the last evening. They give you a towel for showering, which is rare! 100% recommend for solo travellers.

As I was a solo traveller and prefer not to sleep in dorms, the smallest room I could get was of 4 persons/beds for myself and therefore a bit pricier for me alone.

Self-serve kitchen was handy with 2 fridges, a stove, a small storage bin for each room, dishes and cooking ware; but could still use a face lift and reset with newer wares. Everything seemed a little broken. The toaster oven would not heat up properly, hopefully replaced by now. Was advertised as a No Hot Water room, which was fine, the cool water was perfect for a quick shower. Otherwise a great place to stay!

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Great chill vibe for old and young surfer hippies. Location ideal, just up from the main busy strip leading to the beaches, within 200m of everything. Quiet at night. Beds were comfy and AC worked. Pool was clean and refreshing. Good value.
