Nothing. Only qualm is the offer of a free breakfast which was a fruit platter but the cooked food was so good we were delighted to pay.

Everything the place is incredible. The photos on booking.com are now outdated and it’s better in real life. The service is superb and they go out of their way. It was our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary bottle to celebrate. They also upgraded us without asking. Truly a phenomenal experience- food, drink and accommodation superb.

I wish they had more options in the menu during lunch and dinner.

The amenities, room and location are perfect. Option do 2 pools and private beach submerge in the forest. It’s close to Manuel Antonio park. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The closest beach was generally difficult to access. everyone relies on the golf cart rides to get one the most of the way, with rest a bit difficult for older folks. The beach itself is very nice at low tide. The other less than optimal experience was the dining room. Generally, the foods OK but could use improvement

great location. wonderful staff. great support and accommodation. Staff was prompt and courteous. With any issues had , they responded promptly. The location is great. We had access to wonderful variety of tropical life. A toucan set outside our balcony and entertain us with wonder song. Truly amazing. If you and tropical life at arm distance while restingonyour balcony or in your hot tub, this is the place.

It's a top-end hotel and so are the prices. That's okay but sometimes the drinks are overpriced.

Makanda delivers everything that you might expect and possibly a little bit more. It's pure luxury and the service is sublime. The swimming pool is fantastic and we loved private the beach area. The room are very beautiful. The restaurant is outstanding.

To get to the beach you needed to call for someone to drive you down in a golf cart, it was a private beach and there was a staff member down there to tend to your needs. Sunsets were hard to see unless you drove a few minutes to the local beach.

The staff was amazing and very kind. The food was delicious. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Restaurant is fair, but it could be improved to match the top-notch facilities. The option to create a sense of fine dining should be rethought. Breakfast in particular should be swifter, with a couple of extra options, and could be included (only fruit is included, which is great, but falls short for this price point).

Perfect! By far the best hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. There are wild animals (sloths, monkeys, toucan,..) on the hotel property and we loved it! Spacious rooms and nice staff. The private beach that you can reach by golf cart is a big plus

Incredibly beautiful facilities and immaculately presented room. Every need and indulgence was catered for with diligent and friendly staff. The private pool at our villa was a real bonus, where we had daily wildlife coming to visit! A magical place to stay.

Is quite difficult to walk between spaces, because the paths are very steep, perhaps should have more steps. The electrical cars were a “must”. The beach had difficult access, to get to the sand and lots of rocks.

The food options for in room dining were very sparse and only included lunch/dinner items at that. For the moments I wanted a private meal, my options were limited.

I was in a villa with an ocean view. I was able to see the sun rise and set everyday. There was a large balcony with a seating area, lounge area and hottub. The room was large in size, including the bathroom. There was a fully functional kitchen if cooking was needed (I do not cook on vacay). Overall very satisfied.

I think for the expensive price, breakfast should be included. The beach should have a bit more comfortable sunbeds.

Nothing… it was just an amazing experience staying there!!

This is possibly the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in!! Exquisite attention to every detail, amazing rooms and the bathroom was unreal! The beautiful mosaic work every where was amazing! The staff went 110% and above! Nestled in the jungle with gorgeous views! Crazy wildlife sounds at night! The pools were gorgeous, they took us down by golf cart to the beach, as it’s pretty steep to walk. Byron and Randol were exceptionally kind and helpful… I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful staff!!

Over-priced, we've been traveling for 18 days and stayed only in 5 stars or boutique hotels. They all offered nice mini bar treats for free.. here, we were charged 8$ for a tea bag ..

The only complaint I have is that I wished they had a little shop of some sort on property that sold snacks, fruit, local coffee, souvenirs, etc. Maybe its in the works, but if not they should consider something as sometimes

The attention to detail shown in the room design is excellent. The bed, and all the other furnishings, were super comfortable. We picked a room with an Ocean View and it did not disappoint as the view was amazing and the terrace was huge and could easily fit a number of persons. Lastly, the service was very good as all the staff are very friendly and attentive. Also, the WiFi here was very good as it worked pretty much everywhere on the property.

The prices of the food and drinks are very very expensive! The hotel has a lot of ups and downs, they offer golf carts to move between rooms and pool and etc.. however, when we checked put it was very early in the morning, we had to take the luggages ourselves by walking, with the help of the security guide, we were going up and my husband fell down and git injured..

The Hotel is amazing, great design in the room, the restaurant and and the pools. It was a great stay, the pool is perfect, with monkeys just around the pool jumping (not annoying or dangerous)
