Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaSome will find it difficulty to drive or walk down steep hill from reception down to parking and rooms. This should be made very clear as this is not an accessible location for anyone but those who are well and fit.
Very simple, rustic experience as we expected. Very good location, with excellent view from our terrace and situated in a forest. Room was simple but clean, bathroom good, good wifi. Restaurant on site was simple, but had very good food

SwedenThe walls were thin so very noisy. We could literally follow the conversation from our neighbour who where just talking. There were not much people so it was not a big problem but I can think that if it is busy that it can be.
The rooms looking really nice, cabin feeling. The view is beautiful. The rooms are clean No other facilities than a bed in the room. No fridge, no water cooker, this would have been a big plus.

Loved everything about this place! Beautiful hotel that gives off a “chalet” vibe. Gorgeous surroundings, my partner even saw an armadillo in the garden! Very clean, there were many blankets to fight off the cold of the mountains, the bed is comfy, hot shower, staff is really friendly. We bought a bottle of red wine and made use of the wine glasses provided. We stayed 2 nights and got breakfast for free. I read comments about traffic noise, but as a light sleeper it didn’t bother me at all.

United StatesFirst of all, Diego and his family run a great hotel with very kind and prompt hospitality. They included breakfast, helped with excursions and the restaurant offered a nice menu for dinner as well. The excursions that they have on site were incredible. We loved the quick sign up and the caring team that took care of us. We went zip lining and did an ATV tour. Lucas and Isaac were the best. My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon and the whole team at Mirador made it a very special time. I would 10/10 recommend!!

United Statesthere is a steep walk or drive to and from the room.
This hotel is in a very remote location off of a main highway with beautiful views of the mountains. The restaurant has amazing trout, that is their specialty. The people were super friendly. The bed was quite comfortable as were the pillows. Our room was spacious with a very large shower and plenty of hot water and good water pressure . They provided a body wash/shampoo in the shower, if you’re OK with that you don’t need to bring your own. I always bring my own travel make up mirror wherever I go and I did need it here. There is no heat or air conditioning in the room, but it wasn’t needed. They do provide extra blankets & the Wi-Fi was really good. The humming birds were plentiful and peaceful to watch. They gave us free breakfast because we stayed for two nights. That was a pleasant surprise.

GermanyWe arrrived at late evening when it was dark and raining heavily. We had a few misunderstandings with the reception. Finally it was clear, that we had to drive a steep road down to our hut. It took us quit a while, because it was dark and steep. Finally we had to walk some stairs to the hut - it was no fun, we had a lot of heavy luggage and it was raining a lot. It is also quite cold because it's high in the mountains. Suggestion for improvement: Umbrellas also for the guests not only for staff.
The hut itself was very clean, well equipped and you are really remote in the nature.

GermanyThe room was a bit cold, there is i.e. no AC or heater to heat it up a bit. Some thicker blankets are provided. A 4x4 car is recommended to get down and even more up from the hotel parking - it is very steep. Thus it is also a little hike from the rooms to the restaurant. The prices in the restaurant are a bit high for the location and in comparison to the overall room price.
If the weather is clear, the views are amazing. It also has a cabin style with the wodden hotel rooms. Wifi is good in the rooms.

CanadaThe road down to the accomodations was not paved and extremely steep. Our small 2 wheel drive car had issues getting up the hill.

United KingdomNothing negative to say, only that the walk from the apartment to the restaurant was quite steep. But it wasn't an issue for us.
This place is amazing!! . When we arrived, earlier than check-in, we were encouraged to sit in the restaurant whilst they checked it was ready. It's a place you can go to for nice food, or just drinks - either way, it's well worth it. There's an inside seating area, but there is also a balcony that looks over their well maintained gardens. They have bird feeders in the garden that you see an array of birds (most excited by the motmot) and other animals (squirrel, coati, tayra!), and feeders above the balcony for the stunning hummingbird. It also has a great mountainous view, being so high up. You could sit for hours!! We walked the pretty steep slope down to our accommodation, which was one of 6 small chalet type, spacious apartments. The shower had hot water, and there were blankets on the bed (which were needed as it gets chilly in the night). They were super clean and pretty too, also with a lovely view. Parking was available. They have trails you can walk - into woodland and forest. There are zip lines that you can pay to go along to. The paths are well maintained and it's not necessary to wear trainers. I would recommend having dinner on the restaurant - I'm not sure there is anything else around - and they had a good selection of food and drink. Staff couldn't be more helpful, they were amazing!! They organised bus tickets and even called the company to make sure they stopped for us. They weren't above and beyond (especially when the first bus didn't stop) to sort everything out. I couldn't thank them enough truly super! We wanted to break up the long journey from Golfito (South-West) to San Jose. We got a bus to San Isidro and was advised (by the bus ticketer) to get a taxi the rest of the 20 minute journey.
