It was not peaceful due to being able to hear everything through the thin walls.

The reception staff were really helpful and on top of everything. We were greeted with kindness and lemonade. The problem with this place is that it's hard to sleep due to the noise. You could hear everything that went on outside and people in the rooms in close proximity. If you stay here, make sure to bring earplugs and get to sleep by 10pm as that's when the restaurant stops playing music. They start up again with clanging dishes and music at 6am sharp! It's a shame because the actual lodge is really pretty, the staff is friendly and the grounds are nice, but wouldn't stay here again because of the noise.

The rooms and the bathroom are very small. The beds are really uncomfortable, worn and torn. Drinks at breakfast were of poor quality (fruit juice). It is more like a transit "hotel" with a lot of tour companies using, very busy.

The premises look nice, have a good atmosphere and there are a rich variety of birds around the garden. We really liked that we could use the spa of a sister hotel (Hotel Poco a Poco), that was excellent after a warm day full of activities around Monteverde. Breakfast was really good, wide selection of buffet. Safe, convenient parking. High quality toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, etc) in the bathroom. It was not expensive, but not the greatest price - value ratio. Would probably not return, there are many (seemingly better) alternatives in Monteverde.

Room 28 (1 queen bdrm & 2 twin bdrm) is dark, and no outdoor sitting area. (Good for a big family I guess due to 2 bdrms plus futon). Most other rooms have their own outdoor sitting area. The room got very hot during the day. Dirty window screens. No small fridge in room.

Nice gardens & court yards, quiet location, good breakfast. Great restaurant across from the hotel.

It is quite loud while you're trying to sleep. Not because of partying or anything just wooden floors, heavy doors, that sort of thing.

We needed accomodations with 3 beds so we chose the country lodge. We only stayed one night but it was comfortable and the breakfast was good. I loved the indoor garden.

Great location. Nice and relaxing. Restaurant right across the road. Plus a few more just up the road. Including a mini market. The park is lovely for the children, loads of hummingbirds feeding off the flowers surrounding it. All the staff super friendly. The only thing to make this property better would be a swimming pool but it’s not overly needed.

After spending the last several nights in hotels and hostels without hot water it was nice to have a quick refreshing hot shower. Breakfast was excellent, with several options and quality food. Service was superb, we were given a lemonade when we were checking in. Great, great stay.

The only negative were the numerous ants in our room and bathroom, although it is a problem in most locations in Costa Rica.

The rooms were large and clean and the grounds were gorgeous. The staff was courteous and so willing to share ideas of activities to do in the area. My grandkids were sad when the hash browns were all gone in the breakfast buffet and even though there were only a few minutes until the buffet closed, they brought them a plate of freshly made hash browns!

This was a lovely find in Monteverde! I'd stay again. The grounds were well maintained and relaxing. The room was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Loved having the little balcony area too. Breakfast was great, no complaints!

Only uncomfortable aspect is no A/C in the rooms - some nights were temperate enough that it didn't matter, but if it gets warm the rooms can become quite hot.

Location and facilities are gorgeous, staff are super knowledgeable about the area and very friendly.
