How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location of the hotel is in the center thus you can just roam around San Jose and nearby attractions with ease. When in terms of safety I can say it is heavily secured. Rooms were kept clean when you needed housekeeping and a sumptuous breakfast every morning was awesome.

The room smelled like someone smoked in it and they tried to cover the smell.
It was inexpensive, not too far from airport and it had a casino and restaurant right there.

Someone was chatting I assume to the security guard outside on/off most of the night, it was quite distracting Also I had two bookings for consecutive nights due to availability and not being able to change the original booking, I was able to change it on arrival to avoid changing rooms which was great but, I was only able to pay for the first night, which meant that I was on the check out list the following morning and even though I paid for the 2nd before breakfast when I arrived later in the day, my key had been deactivated and the cleaners had to let me in (I'd explained to them before popping out that I shouldn't be on the list as I wasn't leaving that day) It would have made more sense to be able to pay for both when checking in
I was able to leave my bags with them, the room a decent size, the staff were friendly and it felt safe

I think a sign is needed by the lifts to draw peoples attention to the fact that there are rooms beside it, as other guests were quite noisy standing, chatting outside the door There was also some work going on in the room next door and a couple of times it sounded like they were trying to get into my room, as opposed to being in the next room working
I was able to drop my bags off before check in and to check in slightly early I was only there a short while as I had an early bus to catch but the staff were friendly and also looked after my bags for a few days so I could explore

Breakfast could be improved. Not so many options as in other hotels. Donovan very nice at the reception, the other we’re talking and talking and not very friendly.

We had included breakfast, but since we had an early flight in the morning, we asked for breakfast box and this service was rejected.
The room was big, nice and clean The location is good, very close to the main street full with lots of bars, shops and restaurants The shuttle to the airport is very comfortable option

Refrigaretor was useless at least. it did not funcion properly and I have to use ice bukects to keep water and breberages cold. Honest, breakfast lacked variaty and I noticed menu was the same each morning. I avoided it.
The hotel location is convinience and the center of the city could be reach in 5 minutes walk. In addition, the hotel has 24 hour secuirty personnel and enclosured parking lot.

All good. Some words of caution from staff about safety after dark, but sounds like that applies everywhere in San Jose.
Great hotel. Quick check in, clean and comfortable room. The hotel seemed to be in a safe section of the city, a few good restaurants nearby. Great full breakfast in the morning.
