The value was great for the price. A clean room, parking, hot shower water, and breakfast were included. The only downside was that there was no A/C so it was a little hot but we left the door open and we were fine. A very good and affordable place if you want to be closer to the airport.

It is an older property. Don’t expect it to be fancy

I love sitting out watching the rain and drinking a cup of tea. Watching a cat jump from roof to roof. The staff was so kind and so welcoming and so helpful. breakfast was delicious and I loved the coffee. I saw in other reviews that the neighborhood was sketchy. But I walked around on my own, went to a couple of sodas for meals, and never felt unsafe. People in the neighborhood were very kind as well and I had a delicious dinner at the Nigerian restaurant

This good hotel is located at a 10-min walking distance from the Blanco bus station (Pto.Jimenez bus), and it is a safe walk in daytime. A good place, with friendly and helpful people, quality breakfast, coffee available any time.

Not sure if it was the safest location in San Jose (only stayed one night). I didn't feel comfortable to walk alone in the evening hours. But there is a gate with a buzzer to let guests in so inside I felt perfectly fine.

Cassandra who managed the pension from guiding us around town, to checking us in, to making sure the rooms were made up nicely, to making breakfast, was a beautiful, kind soul! People always make the place, and she did. Rooms were what you would expect from a pension and probably even more for the price paid. Beautiful courtyard garden.

The rooms are quite basic and there was no hot water. The bathroom is old and will be hard to clean. The surrounding area is quite run down.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. They were willing to give us breakfast at 05.30 to enable us to be picked up at 0.600 - and the breakfast was delicious! We had a pleasant little terrace outside our room. The cost of the hotel is very reasonable.

The bed could've been a little more comfy and the towels had other people's hair on them. Be prepared for street noise, but I had earplugs and it was great.

I loved the staff! They were so helpful and accommodating. She was patient when figuring out finances, as I didn't speak much Spanish. The daily breakfast was yummy and I loved having tea available all day long.

There isn't much around the hotel in terms of restaurants and the neighbourhood didn't feel particularly safe to walk around at night

Very good hotel for the price, room was clean and had everything we needed. The reception were helpful and able to store our bags in a locked storage room after we'd checked out. Only 30 minutes drive to the airport but still walkable into the centre.

Needs to be re painted. Door handles fixed No hairdryer available Old sheets & bed covers with holes, torn. A real shame - no investment in the place. Could be even more of a great place.

Great service. The girls working at the reception & cleaning were very friendly & approachable. Breakfast was great. Being able to cook my own food was good. 24 h reception was good too Location - although a bit dodge, so close & walkable to downtown. Helpful - if I needed a pick up at the airport, they organised it. Great to have a hot shower. Would change towels, sheets, toilet paper when you needed.

The shower head was plugged and didn't work well. The water pressure may have been low. There was a large piece of furniture that took up too much space in a small room. Tight quarters for two people. The double bed mattress was a bit old and soft but didn't prevent us from getting a good nights sleep.

A substantial breakfast was included: eggs, beans and rice. The room was a little small but had character and was clean. The room opened onto a inner courtyard which was nice. It provided fresh air until you closed the door. The fan worked.

The hotel needs some repairs and updating, particularly to the bathroom (partially blocked shower head and loose tap) and the furniture needs replacing or recovering especially in the ground floor garden area

Friendly staff and handy for the main bus terminals and city centre. Nice sitting area outside room overlooking the garden and breakfast was good.

Almost no one talks english. Can be noisy When your room neighbours are Locals talking always so loud but I am used to travel and I always have my Secret Weapon: Silicon Earplugs!!!!
