Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomJust wish we'd had another day to stay as it was great value and lovely.
Very friendly staff who let us check in early. Nice pool set in amazing tropical gardens. Place full of wildlife including toucans and monkeys. Great value and perfect room.

United Kingdom- generally seemed a bit run-down, eg reception not very inviting/comfortable, the ‘falls’ themselves looked a bit old and dated - The ocean views are on the other side of the main road so if you’re looking for that then this is not the best choice for you
- lovely pool area - felt like an oasis, not expected from the street - Decent breakfast and food options - Saw monkeys, frogs and resident agoutis (and their baby!) - Room was nice and grounds were well kept

GermanyThe rooms seem to be very close to another, as we heard a lot of noise from the room next to us in the night but otherwise everything was good!
Very beautiful pool and garden area! Hotel is situated handy between very nice beaches and close to Manuel Antonio National Park! Overall recommended :)

United StatesThe room was near the street so it was a little noisy with the road, but the noise level wasn't extreme. You can hear the conversation from the room next door, but the people were not loud. The wifi was not great at this location.
The location is good near Manuel Antonio. The breakfast was fantastic. They had an excellent selection and everything we ate was good. The facilities are nice with beautiful paths and a beautiful pool. The property had iguanas and an agouti.

United StatesWe had an issue with a smoke alarm low battery signal going off from midnight until morning. There is no front desk staff available after 10pm. However, they quickly took care of the problem, to our satisfaction, first thing in the morning. We also had some issues with Wifi connectivity in our part of the building; service people had to come fix it and it took a good part of the day to restore. This would not have been a problem except that my husband was working remotely. We were appreciative that they worked diligently to get the problem resolved.
We loved The Falls accommodation! The front desk and bar/restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and easy to walk to several good restaurants, albeit a bit hilly. Spacious room (#24) with a large double sink bathroom. Fantastic bar with a good happy hour! The restaurant is beautiful, surrounded by large tropical trees and flowers, for breakfast (included), lunch and dinner. We loved the Taco Trio dish! We would frequently see an iguana (see pic) and/or monkey (see pic) playing about. The pool was lovely and refreshing, with drink and food service provided. One night on our way to El Avion restaurant, we saw a sloth crossing the road via the power line above our heads (see picture)!

CanadaNothing.
Clean, comfortable room; lots of outlets for charging devices. The pool was a godsend given the hot, humid weather. Able to take pool towels to the beach. Helpful, professional staff. Convenient location - walking distance to several restaurants (shout out to El Avion) and quick taxi ride to Manuel Antonio National Park. Bonus monkey viewing in the early morning.

United StatesThe staff was nice but restaurant servers could have been a tad more well trained or attentive- or maybe less busy. The parking could get tight due to location of property.
Lovely, spacious hillside with walkways winding on an easy grade up and about trees, palms, flowers, over bridges to individual rooms nicely apart from each other. Huge rooms, beds, showers, fabulous pool. Nice cafe/ bar for great happy hours, varied dinner selections, varied and reasonable. Nearby other town shops and restaurants. Five minutes downhill to the beach by car.

United StatesThe front entrance is not very attractive and doesn't do justice to the great inside space. It was a bit hard to lug our things up the stairs to the bungalow.
We loved the garden in the hotel that had tropical plants and animals. We liked the bungalow and the quiet surroundings. The staff was attentive to our needs as well.

Very unique. Individual cabins scattered among great foliage and waterfalls. Included breakfast is from the menu - finally a place that doesn’t think powdered eggs are absolutely essential for any free breakfast. Excellent value for the money. Don’t be fooled by the front close to the street. It looks like you’re checking into a strip mall, but nothing could be further from the truth.
