Some items are a little worn (concrete steps) but overall very nice

Very quaint and unique…what most are looking for when they think of a hotel in Costa Rica. Simple, clean accommodations in a great setting. Easy walk downhill to Quepos. You will get your daily workout walking back up (or take a cheap taxi ride)!

The food was ok ok. I liked how they served breakfast early so we could start our day, but the cooking wasn’t consistent.

We loved watching wildlife in the trees and birds flying in the sky. It was entertaining!

Breakfast was a bit boring.. Could have been different but every day it was the same buffet. That’s all really! hotel is a bit run down but who cares it’s Costa Rica. Dont expect to stay in NYC Hilton conditions coming here !

The staff was super nice to me and they let me do a late check out as I was waiting for my shuttle. Comfy bed. Quiet A/C in the room. Got extra tomato at breakfast and that made me happy haha.. its the little things for me! I liked it.

beautiful location, basic rooms and terrible breakfast !

Room was basic however had a working air conditioner which was great. Bed was a bit small and very noisy, every time one moved the other woke up. pillows need to changed. they are flat! the most disappointing part was the breakfast, i could not eat the cocked one, the scramble eggs were black. the other accompaniments did not look fresh or for human consumption. One of the morning the milk was off, the butter looked like mayonnaise going bad. there were staff there but they were not trained. the fruit was kept in big plastic containers. not appealing at all. i really don’t understand why they don’t invest in providing fresh scramble eggs and put some ice under the fruit. the restaurant itself is nice and has good views, in the evening they serve Mexican food however due to the poor quality of breakfast we did not want to risk and have another bad food experience. we went to the restaurant near by everyday during our stay.

location is great, the pool is well maintained. there is a beach that you can walk to but it will take about 20 minutes in and down hills. The last bit is pretty steep so make sure you have closed shoes. there were many animals around the property and there is a nice restaurant near by on the main road

There were unsafe steep steps, with loose cement, leading down to room that needed repair. The hotel needs structural work.

I liked that my room faced a very wooded area. I could see all sorts of birds and monkeys and iguanas.

The bed was way too noisy. Felt no privacy at all with my husband, and we were kind of sorry for our neighbours.

The view from the pool was amazing. You could see parrots and monkeys from there and was super nice. You can use the pool at anytime and was pretty much like home: not many rules and everyone behaving properly. Loved the breakfast (buffet).

Depending on where your room is, you might have to walk a lot of narrow rock steps to reach it. We were rather unlucky and reaching the room with our luggage was a big struggle.

Really nice rooms in gorgeous location and beautiful views. You can see all kinds of animals while enjoying a drink by the pool, from impressive macaws, to groups of monkeys, roaming iguanas and even a skunk. The breakfast was pretty good too. The staff was also very nice.

Bathroom needs a renovation. . The breakfast offer to improve. The staff is mainly young volunteers, which influence a level of customer service .

Amazing location, it is like a little hidden safari. The place has a great potential. The manager was professional and helpful. I would recommend this place.

The are two things I think that may need addressing.. One was that the bungalow wasn’t 100% secure. Big gaps under the front door which we had ants come into, same with bedroom as we actually had another outside seated area there but no key for it. 2nd was, although I’m a smoker and only smoking area was off the premises in the car park there was no “bin” as such to put your butts in. I for one carried a little box around with me for the whole journey to put my own in and dispose of but it was littered with everyone else’s.

The 1st thing was how accommodating they were. We were due to arrive 6 days before we actually did due to two cancelled connecting flights, so we had to change our whole itinerary for Costa Rica starting in the Orsa Peninsula instead of San Jose. They wavered the 1st nights charge we would have gotten… this is why we booked it again on our way up. We loved that the property was off the main road with more wildlife surrounding it. Squirrel monkeys even came down one afternoon which was amazing as we had only seen them from a distance before in Corcovado National park. Bed was very comfortable. liked the little area outside our bungalow. They gave you towels for next to the pool each day which was great for when you wanted a dip late afternoon after a whole day of exploring. Thomas who is working there was great with information with the wildlife surrounding us. The manager when we where there ( Ozzy, but can’t remember his name! Sorry) was super helpful with the local bus timetables and when places where busy so we could avoid all that.

It shows that this place used to be very good, probably a long time ago, but now it looks a little old-fashioned and not well preserved. There are a lot of defects in the appearance of the place, like broken tiles, damaged chairs etc... Also, the place is maintained by young people, probably travelers that get accommodations in exchange for working there - and it shows. The level of cleanliness is not very good (both the room and public area), and the place doesn't really run as it should, for example the kitchen should be open until the evening for ordering drinks and snacks, but when we wanted something there was no one there. It is especially annoying because the place is remote from the city and there aren't really other options to get something else nearby. In conclusion, we feel that with not too hard work this place could be amazing, but when we were there we had a bittersweet experience.

The location of the place is unbelievable, 15 min drive from Manual Antonio national park but in a quiet and isolated place surrounded by trees of the jungle. Just sitting in the pool you can spot special birds, monkeys and lizards. Breakfast is included and starts early (7:00 am) so you can eat and still make it to the park early.

    - Breakfast: While I value the inclusion of breakfast, I couldn't help but notice that the presentation seemed disorganized and lacked the appeal portrayed in online photos. I also noticed that none of the staff we encountered around the hotel appeared to be locals. The team managing the morning shift in the kitchen seemed frazzled during breakfast. In comparison, our experiences in other hotels in CR were local staff worked in the kitchen, breakfast was handled seamlessly and tasted better. - Manuel Antonio is a beach town, so I hoped for daily room cleaning or, at the very least, getting fresh towels without having to request them from the staff. - The wifi was terrible. While I typically limit phone use during my time off, reliable internet was essential for planning my days, I ended up using data.

I thought Bongo was beautiful, green, the pool area is nice. I loved waking up to the sound of birds and spotting them around. The manager was helpful.

The dining at the restaurant isn't the best quality, but good enough for a evening snack.

Awesome place, with very friendly staff. The appartement is clean and you are provided with enough towels. The bathroom is well equipped and the shower is modern and functioning. There is a double pool, for which you can ask for bathing towels. And a restaurant with view over the terrain. They also put multiple board en card games at the restaurant. The nature around is very pretty, and we saw monkeys, toucans, ara's/macaws all from the restaurant and pool. The breakfast is included and of good quality.
