Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelgiumThe only thing I didn't like about the hotel is I thought the carpets needed some attention. Especially in front of the elevators the lifts. Other than that I found the rooms very clean and comfortable.
I thought the breakfast was great. They had a very good variety and it was very well maintained. They also have some Peacocks in the garden which is very entertaining I really enjoyed that. The staff were very attentive and polite. I would have to say that was the best part of the hotel was the staff were very good.

Classy, high end hotel. Location excellent - 5 minute walk to the Old Square, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Loved the pianists in the lounge and garden area. Very good breakfast. Our room (an executive suite with balcony) was very large and well-equipped. Service standards were high - staff were helpful and pleasant.

Is that late? Also having to give a £50 security deposit for a phone charger plug is ludicrous…. 10 days later it’s still pending in my bank

United KingdomOur only slight niggle is that the spa whilst lovely is very small and you have to book. We didn’t have any issues with this process however despite making a reservation, upon arrival, there were no beds remaining and the spa was full. We could only assume that they had allowed others who had not booked to enter.
Location was ideal, literally a 5 min walk to the main square and 8/9 mins to the train station to the airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful, providing lots of advice and recommendations of things to do. Our room was excellent and we would not hesitate to return!
