Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicGuests should be just aware that there is no lift.
Food was absolutely marvellous. Breakfast was included in the price, but the restaurant serves also paid lunches and dinners that are heavenly - and the portions are big!. :) The staff in the hotel and restaurant were extremely friendly. I liked the bed. Luckily it wasn't soft, which unfortunately happens in many hotels.

IsraelPersonally, I didn't like the breakfasts. It’s not that there was not enough food, but when there were 3 guests on days, the woman at the reception - Lenka, who helps with breakfast, was absent, the kitchen workers were not particularly friendly. It’s not that they don’t comply with requests, but it’s like they’re doing you a favor. Plus, these days there was no baking, which was argued by the fact that the croissants were still baking. Should I care at 9am? Breakfast is generally from 8 to 10. In this case, when there are few guests, you can simply provide a breakfast menu indicating a time acceptable to the guest. Otherwise, 3 pieces of cheese and sausage in a 4-star hotel looks unjustified and disrespectful to the guests. I’m also not happy with the restaurant that is located in the hotel building. I had dinner there upon arrival and lunch there the next day. I might have continued to eat there, but at lunch, the greens in the salad were poorly washed and sand crunched on my teeth. The same applied to the delicious chanterelle soup. The sand crunched in him too. Plus, the guinea fowl was not well steamed and the meat near the bone was pink and difficult to separate from the bone even with a knife, which is not acceptable for chicken dishes. Yes! The knives are incredibly dull, which is completely unacceptable. They can only cope with terrine and fish. I would like to add that the waiters were very nice.
The hotel is small. Rather, it is a boarding house with the spirit of the early 20th century. There is no lobby, like in hotels, but there is a restaurant. Very clean, friendly maids and woman at the reception - Lenka. Many thanks to them. I asked for a room with a river view and it was provided to me. Kamila, thank you very much. The stay was wonderful. A quiet, peaceful place, 2 minutes from the main promenade, but as if in the forest. If you are looking for something like this, then this hotel is for you.

PolandExcellent location near the central promenade. Very comfortable beds and perfect cleanliness. The interior of the room is in a classic style, the bathroom is modern, newly renovated. A delicious omelet for breakfast is made to order by a local chef. True, we had to wait a long time. The hotel has its own parking, which is very convenient in Karlovy Vary, since this is a big problem in the center. It's a short walk to the main springs, about 10 minutes, and it's a very pleasant walk through the center. Great place, I recommend it wholeheartedly.

It was a hidden gem in Karlovy Vary! The hotel is far from downtown, but still 10 minutes by walk to the main shopping street. Only 5 mins by walk to Cafe Pupp. My room is right besides the river, very quiet and enjoy the sounds of forest, even the restaurant is right below my room. The hostess doesn't speak much English, but the checkin process was simple, not a big deal. Room is equipped with a small hallway and changing room, and all the appliances are available in the bathroom. Breakfast was good, I could see many options. I would try the restaurant next I'm there. It seems nice and luxurious one. Totally would go again!

GermanyIt's a small and cozy hotel, run very professionally as if it was a Hilton. Incredibly attentive and caring staff, being so nice and flexible. They accommodate to personal needs and requests, with a smile. Tasty and satisfying breakfast, with the best ever omelets. The restaurant is beautiful place eat, and so is the garden/terrace. It is right on the river, with green everywhere around. Perfect location, having the quietness of the edge of town, but still just 5 minutes walk to the city center. The renovated room on the top floor was perfectly clean and flawless. Comfy bed, good shower (with soap/shampoo), fridge, TV, nice view outside. Locked, paid parking lot is part of the property. I would recommend the owners to install a basic electric car charge box, so cars can be charged over night.

United StatesMaybe because we were there only for one night, they gave us the one room that doesn't have a view--its one window is street-level and close to a parking lot shed. We asked if it was possible to change and they didn't seem surprised by that, but told us all other rooms were taken. One other issue was the odor of cooking--good cooking for sure, but cooking nonetheless. Half the ground floor is a very nice restaurant, and the kitchen is vented near the front door, which wasn't all that far from our room.
Room was impeccable and tasteful. Beautiful furnishings and finishings, with a big comfortable bed and nice desk. the room itself wasn't very big, but that's not surprising for a small boutique hotel. Breakfast was included and was excellent. It's in a lovely location on the river and easy walking to the fabulous Karlovy Vary promenades. I'd say the price was very good for a weekend night.

Czech RepublicStrange we had to pay for the parking - outside. Also strange that you have to pay for the food in the restaurant, you cannot charge it to the room. And very strange is at breakfast, if you want an espresso you have to pay for it. That was usual 20 years ago but today?
In a quiet corner of Karlovy Vary and still close to the center. The restaurant is very good to exceptional.

United StatesNice place on the river, quiet -- exchange that for being quite a walk to the main downtown area -- about 10 -15 minutes. Good breakfast. Staff helpful, beware not much English. Czech and German. Plus is the Le Marche restaurant is part of the building -- excellent food, recommend the 3 course prix fixe dinner, make a reservation ahead or when you arrive. Very small, cute, great service, not many tables. Restaurant and hotel are not ownership related.
