How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff is not friendly at all. I arrived in the hotel around lunch time and the check in was only at 15h. The moment I said " I have a reservation for today" the staff interrupted me and said " the check in is at 15h", which I obviously new but I wanted to know if I could leave my luggage there. I thought the conversation was quite rude and goes against what is said in the booking page (which mentions we have the option of paying a few for an earlier check in). Besides, the lighting in the room was poor, not enough. There is no air conditioning and the room doesnt look as nice as in the pictures.
I liked the location, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel and two different subway stations 3/4 blocks away. The price I payed was ok compared to the other options so in the end, it was worthy it.

Extremely noisy, even with the closed windows. No air-conditioning
Very convenient location so you can reach the centre in 15 min (bus stop is next to the hotel), clean and comfortable room to sleep a couple of nights

The staff don't speak English or French, they handled the check-in and check-out process, but when I encountered a problem with a super noisy neighbors. Unfortunately, they couldn't understand me and responded in German or through gestures (ich came now)
They have accepted my check-in 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

Not the cleanest hotel, unpleasant to walk on the floor with bare feet. Old interior, which is not very noticeable from the photo. There are no sockets near the bed, it is not convenient to work and charge devices. Sometimes the door didn't open well. Scary dark corridor on the way to the room. At night it is very noisy in the room due to noise from the street.
Good location, relatively close to the city center, there is a public transport stop right opposite the entrance. Located on a street with various shops and restaurants. The workers were friendly.

It was very loud and hot. Even if you turn off the heater, the room is still really hot, so you cannot sleep without opening the window. However, if you open the window, it is really loud outside.
The room was very clean. The receptionist was very humble and caring.

One morning there wasn't ANY WI-FI and I needed it very much! When we complained they said something in mixed german/english like "we cannot do anything, it's Saturday". Blankets were very thin and it was cold in the room.
Room was basic but was clean. Spacious. Bus station right in front of entrance of hotel. Overall OK for a really short stay.

Didn’t feel secure, there was drilling at 7am, the curtains don’t make the room dark and there was a light constantly flashing.

It was really loud at night because of the strip club nearby, we didn’t get any good sleep there.
How walkable distance everything was. The rooms size was also quite perfect for only 2 nights of sleeping. Longer stay would be harder

It was borderline clean, a lot of stains on sheets and towels, poor lighting, probably, last time when it was renovated was during Erich Honecker regime.
It is quite close to the city center, you have the bus station in front of the building, and shops and places everywhere around it.

There was no hair drier and basic toiletries like shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrush.

The style was bit like "1970th". Unfortunately, I had a room, in which a smoker has been placed before.
The location of the place is great. It is almost in the middle of the Berlin and very close to Potsdamer Platz.

Weird smell of some cheap perfume everywhere, unpleasant staff, the matress wasn’t very comfotrable, too hot inside (there was no air condition)

The floor is inclined and makes me dizzy. It's close to a strip club, which scared me. I saw hair on the bed and in the sink.
