How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing…though instructions for the TV would be helpful.
It was close to the cathedral and to the things that Speyer. It was also adjacent to the quieter Altstadt which was nice to walk around in. The staff are very nice and helpful. It also had a place to park the car. Breakfast was decent (Brötchen, cold cuts/cheese, cereal and yoghurt, hard boiled eggs, machine that produced coffee and cappuccinos) as well as for a good price.

The location is great, a close walk to the Dom and city center. A range of restaurants are within an easy walk. Even the train station is within a reasonable wlalk. A pleasant way to visit a somewhat off the main track of travel to Germany.

There are no parking spaces directly at the hotel. It's a bit difficult to park your car nearby in a dark street.

Wifi is not available in the rooms. Shower is like most I encountered not able to keep preferred height set. So it drops down. Matras of bed was good. Pillow was not name worth
The restaurant was good. Full of locals so that tells a thing. The surroundings are very historical. I loved a small walk through town.

The bed wasn't very comfortable, the room wasn't very clean and modern. Breakfast was acceptable at best.
Friendly hotel in a good location. Nice staff (especially Maria). Good Italian restaurant in the annex.

A bit noise from the street and restaurant, but this was manageable.
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. A bottle of water was offered. Breakfast was good too. We went to the restaurant "il rustico" which was very good. Top Italian kitchen.

Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent shower. Had a meal in the evening in the restaurant which was very good. Hotel parking is available at a short walk away but you can park outside to drop off bags.

Meat and cheese for breakfast was very much, but low discounter quality. Quality over quantity would make it a better experience.
Location was central, but really quiet. Nice room, clean, spacious and new bathroom. Very friendly staff.

OK, first, we arrived at 6 pm and staff was clearly preoccupied with adjoining restaurant. Then when wifi signal was nonexistent in our room (404) that was met with doubt, despite the fact that it didn't work on 1) iphone 2) android 3) laptop. Finally got manager to reset router. Didn't help. Wifi great in lobby so I had stand there and do my work. Also worked in nearby breakfast room, but that was locked. We were told breakfast was at 8 when in fact it was 7 and told we could get coffee "earlier" but I had to beg and woman was all annoyed with me. I asked for 15 euro off to wifi debacle -- no can do they said (so not true) so I asked for refund thru booking.com, and they never got back to me. I'm an Airbnb super host, so I know good service. This was not it.
The location is fantastic and a bonus was free parking, though it wasn't close by. Still that was nice. Rooms are fine and breakfast was also fine. But I had many issues that made me feel overall annoyed.

I visited during a heat wave and it was hot everywhere in the hotel. Of course it is fine if there is no climatization, but then some better management to keep the hotel as cool as possible should be done. E.g. opening windows when it is still relatively cool outside, but instead everything was kept closed and stuffy. My room was very hot when I checked in and had one tiny window only that had been left closed. Impossible to get the temperature down and a bad night's sleep. Reception responded quite rudely to the remarks made by several guests on the temperature issue.
Breakfast is decent, quite standard for hotels in Germany.

Everything was perfect.
The room and location was great. It was perfect for our one night stay in Speyer. The city centre is close to the hotel. Free parking was also very close by. We didn't have breakfast as we left very early.
