Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

SwedenThe restaurant did cause some noice up until midnight, since their staff entrance/deliveries area was facing the same way as our bedroom window. The warm nights had us keeping the window open. There was a construction site on the other side of the street and constuction workers are early birds... But from midnight to 6.30 is was quiet.
Spacious, stylish and modern. Very nice apartment, good fit for a family from the Nordics with an interest in design and art. We appreciated the interior a lot. The building is facing the beach and the restaurant on the bottom floor has quite good food. We hade breakfast and some meals in the appartment, and the dining area was roomy enough for the four of us. There were several supermarkets within walking distance, we preferred Edeka. Beds were good. The extra bed was a little bit small for two older kids, who need almost as much space as adults, but it was comfy and of good quality. It was not obvious to us since it was an appartment, but bed linen and towels were included in the price.

We rented an apartment with a kitchen so not a regular hotel room with a boarding. There was a very friendly personnel, even we were supposed to arrive later than opening hours of the reception the receptionist waited for us to hand over all necessary information as well as the keys. The appartment was clean, prepared, new furnishings and there were all amenities as you have at home and you can imagine. The plates, pots, a good pan, glasses, mugs, a cutlery, a microwave and a dishwasher. Everything new and clean. The bathroom was clean with enough toilet papers, towels as well as bathrobes. The bed was large, very comfortabley with a very good and thick mattress. The wifi in the room was very fast and working all day long even for 4K videos. The apartment was just perfect. In addition there was a sauna in the building you could book free of charge. The Finnish sauna was very spacious, clean and the heat was up (around 100C). The personnel was very kind and prepared the sauna for us at the time in advance we wanted to. Aboslutely great experience and worth recommending. Just 1 min. far form the beach, 3 min. from the main promenade.

GermanyGreat hotel! Our room was very spacious and comfortable, tastefully designed, with a fully equipped kitchen (we even had a dishwasher!), bathroom with amazing (!!) shower and the best part was that we had a balcony! With the super-reasonable price that we paid, I couldn’t ask for a better value for money! The location was fantastic- the beach is just outside the hotel, and so is lots and lots of restaurants. There’s also an Edeka supermarket right around the corner. We were there for only two nights, but it was a very pleasant stay. Very recommended!

SwedenVery uncomfortable sofa bed. Difficult to find location when arriving since the entrance is not from the "Strandpromenade" but from a side street, which we were not informed of and does not show on the map. We were charged an extra 22.40 Euro when checking out for "Kurtaxe" which we had not been informed of in advance. There were apparently some tickets associated with this which we did not receive at all. We were also charge for a "spa tax" which apparently was for a sauna we had not been informed of when arriving and hence did not use. Small and narrow parking lot. A key card was to be inserted in the room for the electricity to be switched on (which is not unique), but that also controlled the Wi-Fi and the fridge. After returning home it often took some minutes before the Wi-Fi got going. This in combination with the fridge issue meant that we had to constantly leave a card in when we were out. Not great value for money. Will not stay here again during out next trip to Rügen.
Clean. Comfortable main bed. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly but somewhat incompetent staff.
