Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceAntiquated room . Practically everything is in dire need of renovation. Nonexistent cleanliness. The common showers and bathrooms are in a state of disrepair.
It was centrally located next to the Hohenzollern Damm S-Bahn station and close to Fehrbelliner Platz U-Bahn Station ,which practically gives access to the entire city. The reception staff was friendly. There were also Food options quite close. The Willmersdorf/Schamargendorf districts are also nice and quiet.

CanadaThe shared bathrooms and toilets are not the best. They are quite old and not so clean. The decoration of the rooms are very old and it's not so comfortable. The internet/WIFI system was terrible.
The night receptionist was very helpful and nice (Angelina maybe was her name). The value is adequate for the price. It's like a hostel but doesn't hold this status. The TV in the room worked as well.

United KingdomThere are 3 out of 4 showers on my floor was faulty, you have to pay 100 euros "security deposit" that is undeard-of at all other hotels. The cleanliness of the room is disappointing as there are stains on my mattress and visible cobwebs on the walls. Even the light was constantly making electrical noise for no reason.
There is a really nice Italian restaurant around the corner, and travelling to and from Berlin hbf was convenient

Germany- I came in 2 hours before the checking in time, quite tired. But the staff didn't let me have an early check-in, nether was I allowed to sit and rest by the reception, so I had to move about the town with my luggage during the 2-hour wait. Not welcoming. - My room was not clean when I finally checked in. - One toilet had no hand-wash and very little toilet paper

Czech RepublicThey did not apply anywhere that we had to make a deposit for keys 50€. The deposit is not problem itself, but they could take only cash for it, we had to walk to a atm, that was 1,5 km distance from the hotel and then come back and proceed with the registration. The room barely corresponded to the pictures that we found on booking.com

United KingdomNo facility for a late check in if plane had been delayed I.E a lock box with a code would be ideal. Some of the mattresses in rooms where absolutely disgusting stains on them what looks like a build up for yrs. Sheets were fresh and clean, clean towels however bathrooms could have been cleaner. 2 separate occasions while females where in the shower a male member of staff used a key to unlock the door and open it and look inside. The ladies on the reception desk were lovely and very helpful.

SpainThe room could have been cleaner and the bed properly made as I was only given a single pillow and duvet even though it was a double bed. The toilets were lacking sufficient toilet paper and no complementary toiletries were offered. The shower was clogged and the hot water was not reliable. It should be communicated that it's not truly a hotel as the rooms are located in an adjacent residential apartment block away from the reception.
The hotel is close to a train station which means quick and easy access to the city centre. The apartment building where the hotel rooms are located is quiet and it also offers good privacy. Early check out is fast and simple, keys can be dropped into the letter box, and there was no issue with getting back the 50e deposit. Everything was documented and check in was efficient.

IrelandEarly checkout. one morning housekeeping came and I said no because we were still in bed and the cleaner walked straight into our room to leave clean towels while we both lay in bed in shock. Beds not comfortable, two separate twin beds for a 'double' . No direct public transport to busy areas, always needed to change. No extras in room ie hairdryer, coffee machine, iron. Early on a Saturday morning some builders started drilling and it was so loud it kept waking us up. Overall bad value for money

Czech RepublicI do not remember being informed about the 50euros deposit for the keys IN CASH at check in and therefore needed to walk back to the station to withdraw the money. The bathroom was not shared for 2 rooms only. There were no toiletries (soap), so when you visit this place, don't forget to take it with you. There was a big balcony, unfortunately with a big sign: Opening the balcony is strictly prohibited. The doors were slamming really noisily and the beds were on the wheels, which guarantees a night adventure. Good for a short term stay, not for longer though.
The lady at checkout was very friendly. Right next to the place, there is a very good bakery. We were traveling for Coldplay concert and needed an accommodation for just one night. We had an amazing time in Berlin.

ItalyThe staff Is rude, in particular the women at the reception. She doesn't speak any English at all, which Is absurd for a city like Berlin. We forgot some goods in the room after our leaving and we could not talk with them via phone, as they were not able to speak English. A friend mine called them for us.
The hotel js very in old biulding, simple but clean. Although it is outside the city centre, it is very well connected.

NigeriaThe female receptionist that checked us in was so rude, she couldn't speak English and was cussing in Russian, she didn't realize that I understood what she was said in Russia. Subsequently the male staff I met later was really friendly and luckily each time I needed help he was the one at the desk. The cleaning ladies only never bothered to clean our room after trying just once when we were asleep in a 5 days period. The shower was either too hot or too cold, it was almost impossible to set the water temperature to a reasonable level. The bed had wheels and kept moving around while you sleep.
The location was good, with a nearby train/metro station.
