Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaRelatively small bathroom and shower corner As it is old historic building, the wooden floor is squeeking a bit especially near old style wardrobe.

SwitzerlandThe toilet didn't flush properly. I had to keep the dark curtains always closed, otherwise people could see into the room from the corridor. The street itself is very quite, but nearby there are many sex workers waiting for clients, at all times of the day.
The building itself is very beautiful, having breakfast in the balcony was great when it was warm enough to stay outside

GermanyThe breakfast could have had more variety, of the healthy kind. In other words, more vegetables and freshly prepared fruit, and "vollkorn" (whole grain) bread. And less meat!
Other than the breakfast missing some variety, everything was wonderful. Friendly staff, clean and beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, quiet neighbourhood.

United StatesI don't have any complaints. We liked everything about this hotel.
This is a charming hotel with lovely staff. It's a little tricky to find as it is not on the street, but thru a little alleyway and the sign on the main street is very small. However, it is worth the effort! Because it is off the street it is very quiet. The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable. I love German bedding! If there is any complaint it is with the size of the bathroom. Everything is crammed into a small space. However, the room itself was a very nice size. We were lucky and got a room on the ground floor. There are no elevators, so if you have heavy luggage the stairs could be an issue. It is a circular staircase, and the steps are wide and carpeted. The breakfast room is on the top floor and is wonderful, as are the breakfast offerings. A carafe of coffee at your table, lovely loaves of bread & rolls, meat & cheese, tomatoes with mozzarella & basil, smoked salmon on toast with a piece of lemon, soft-boiled eggs, yogurt & cereals. The location is perfect. A short walk to 2 different metro stations, and a grocery store close by (we did have a refrigerator in our room). It's a doable walk to the major shopping center or zoo (about 35 minutes) if you don't want to take the metro and an easy walking distance to some of the popular tourist sites. We used the hop-on-hop-off bus and the pick-up spot was nearby, but once we got to know our way around we found it was easy to walk or take the metro wherever we needed to go. We were on a month-long vacation with this as our last stay and it was my favorite. We loved it and would happily stay there again.

United KingdomIts not easy to find, its down a dark alley way, although the building is nice. It seriously needs a 24 hour reception in my view. There are night workers in that area and we came across one plying her trade in the garden next to the hotel. There were families staying there at the time. Also we encountered a guest who could not get in at 19:50 even though her booking said there would be reception up to 20:00, and in the dark that's not great.
The breakfast was good, the lady there was very helpful. The room was of a good size, and clean, and a nice bathroom. Maybe some water or tea / coffee in the room would be nice ?

United KingdomThe rather rough looking entrance road which you completetly miss initially but then enjoy the mystery it holds!
I loved the way the hotel is completely hidden away from the main road via a pretty ropey entrance way but dont be put off by that as it comes out into a little oasis of peace and quiet. Very chilled hotel indeed, breakfast of good quality meat, cheese, bread and salad options on the top floor with optional open air terrace.

GermanySome people may claim that it is not easy to find. So I recommend to carefully study the map before you go there. I myself had no difficulty at all.
Nice hotel, possibly a bit underrated. The breakfast could provide a bit more variety for my taste, but I am rather demanding in that respect. Enjoyed having breakfast outside on the terrace.

SlovakiaThere were no appliances in the room - no mini-fridge or an electric kettle. At least an electric kettle would have been nice. The entry into the backyard where the hotel is located is badly marked. The surrounding is nice and quite, but we have met also some "night-workers" in front of the hotel or nearby (already around 7 pm).
Nice room in a small hotel in a quite backyard - older hotel with original ceilings, floor and equipment. Very comfy bed. Location very near the downtown Berlin - within an easy 20 min. walk. If you don't like walking, there are 2 metro stations nearby (within 5 min).
