How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great. What’s not to like.
The room faced the rear of the hotel so there was no traffic noise. The location of the hotel was great for me as it was walking distance from my relations in Berlin. I didn’t use the breakfast service.

No rooms have kettles (so I brought a travel one with me). I find this disappointing, accepting that you can purchase drinks in the reception area. I had rooms (during two stays) at the rear of the hotel - quieter and cooler (when the sun shines). Those who had rooms at the front (overlooking Franfurter Allee) found them noisier (when the window was open) and hotter. There are aircon controls in the rooms however, none of us found a way to make them operate... perhaps idiocy on our part! None of the above detracted from our overall good stay.
This review reflects the comments of myself and five family members. The hotel is located almost adjacent to one of the entry/exit points of Samariter Straße U-Bahn station on Frankfurter Allee - ideal for us as we used public transport a great deal. Booking in was straightforward and the rooms were clean, well serviced, the beds comfortable, bathrooms working as intended and staff always helpful and pleasent. Breakfast provided enough variety to fill you up for the day and the coffee machine produced reasonable quality drinks. We breakfasted from 9.00am which ensured we missed the busiest time. Outside the hotel there are nearby spati's (open all hours) and a Netto supermarket, DM personal care shop, and a range of cafes, bakers, etc. and there are simply lots of restaurants and bars in the area. We didn't encounter any noise in the hotel which was good in busy periods and the evenings. Overall, the hotel delivered what we wanted in the Friedrichshain district.

Heating was switched off, the room was cold, apparently it was summer in April! And it snowed whilst we were there, the heating was working on other floors of the hotel, we were offered another room but the heating wasn't working there either, unsure what the problem actually was but being told it was summer wasn't helpful apart, apart from this it was what I expected, just don't go there when it's cold.
The rooms were clean, bathroom was neat and clean plenty of hot water, and a heated towel rail with plenty of towels,beds were comfortable.

Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. Overall hotel was basic but comfortable. Would have been nice to have had tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Location was perfect for our requirements.

I’d say the breakfast is a bit overpriced for what it offers.

Everything is ok for a short stay.
Amazing location if you want to stay in the East side. Good value for money. Quiet room, i could sleep undisturbed. All comforts for a short stay.

Basically, there was nothing I didn’t like about this place.
The property is close to a metro station, which makes it easy to move around the city. It also has a good bed and toilet.

Great location beside u-bahn station with direct line to Mitte, and beside all that Fredrichsain has to offer. Basic no-frills accommodation with polite service. Plenty of local coffee shops for breakfast.

The night receptionist I met made the check-in annoying. The room smelled of stale beer. The room is basic.
The day receptionist, who stayed over to help the night one check me in was very polite and reasonable. The room can be darkened. It was quiet.

The temperature in our room could not be controlled, in the first night (with heating) and in the second night (without heating) the room was so warm in the morning so that I woke up too early. Beds are quite narrow with 70 cm width.

While the room was very clean, it did smell of cigarette smoke (despite being a nonsmoking hotel). I had to open the window multiple times to get it to a bearable level.
Pleasant hotel in a handy location that does the job. Very friendly staff!

The drainage capacity of the drain in the bathroom was very limited.
The room was quite warm and clean. The location is great and just near the U Bahn. Close to the cozy places.
