Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI felt for the price (but i know that area is expensive) the room was small and not any more luxurious than a premier inn. The bed and pillows and bathroom average, size and quality as a premier inn. The breakfast was only continental, there was no honey and it was all self service. I could have paid for eggs or cooked food bit it was at least a further £10 The spa would have been an extra £20 if I hadn't had a massage and complained about the price. Booking. com didf not make it clear that the swimming pool and spa was a cost to be paid daily on use. I think had i gone as a couples stay i would have been disappointed. The spa was nice though the changing rooms tiny and very wet floors and humid for changing in. The hotel is worth staying at if you want a spa treatment, but a romantic bedroom stay NO! if my husband had been with me, it would have been disappointing as there was no luxury to the room for sitting in. As hoteliers i felt that the business is not pushing the boat out for their customers. More could be offered for the price.
The spa was what I needed after a busy 4 days. the views were good.

United KingdomIt was a shame the guests at the hotel don’t have free access to the spa facilities, especially guests staying in the Windermere Suite which is the premium suite. I’ve stayed at a few spa hotel's across the country and this is the first one where I’ve had to pay an additional cost (£20 pp for a specific time slot) to use the spa facilities. Quite disappointed by that.
Windermere Suite was amazing and staff were super friendly!

United KingdomThe fact that the use of the pool/spa facilities were an extra charge of £20 per person for 2/3 hrs only, was a real let down and the extra cost to have a cooked breakfast. These should be included regardless considering the price we paid for the 1 night stay. The beds need a new mattress upgrade or would benefit massively from some sort of topper until the mattresses can be renewed.
This was a lovely hotel based on the middle of the lake. We booked a standard double room that was lovely and clean with balcony and lake view. (The table and chairs on the balcony weren’t clean though) the double bed was 2 singles together so a good size but the mattresses had seen better days! (Springs galore) which was a let down. We booked 1 night with breakfast. The main purpose of our stay was to enjoy the scenery of lake Windermere then return to the hotel to enjoy the spa/ pool/ sauna facilities, however, upon arrival we discovered that the spa facility wasn’t included in the stay price and that in fact you had to pay an extra £20 per person to use it for 3 hrs (2 hrs if booked for the 6pm slot) and limited spaces were available. Also the breakfast included was only the continental breakfast which did have a good selection of fresh pastry, bread, fruit and cereals, juices and hot drinks but if you want a cooked option this is extra. For example we had 1 full English and 1 omelette which was an extra £20 on top of our bill. The hotel is a 10 minute drive into the main part of Windermere.

United KingdomThe room was a little worn and torn. The mattress you can pretty much feel each and every spring when turning over throughout the night. On the Saturday the spa facilities weren't really manned and so the kids that were in there were throwing floats at each other just missing my partners head by about an inch but the look of death he gave, made the kids scarper. Also they were all sat in the sauna at one point which most adults looked fed up with as they kept going in and out opening the door every two minutes. You could tell some of the older folk looked dissatisfied by them being in there.
The hotel is in a great location, just south of the town so about a 10 minute drive. Our room had an amazing view of the lake and the spa facilities were nice when it was just adults.

United KingdomThe mattresses were horrendous, couldn’t sleep at all because of two massive dips on each side of the mattress and that brought the whole experience down massively, the bathroom shower kept leaking and left a pool of water every morning and some bed sheets were stained.
Lovely scenery, good value for use of the spa, lovely staff for the most part and generally very lovely and cozy atmosphere!

United KingdomWe had a “compact room” and it was a compact room - I don’t think it helped that I’m 7 months pregnant so didn’t really sleep. Think it was also like a sofa bed as could feel the dints, but the second night was better.
Food was brilliant and spa facilities were great. Had a massage and the lady who did mine was amazing!

United KingdomWe had to pay additional fee to use the spa facilities. The kitchen shut at 8.30 pm and staff said we could phone an order a takeaway Also there was additional fee for room service. Additional fee for cooked breakfast.I felt you got only the basic room and everything had an add on cost. We managed to get free car parking included with the room. The bedroom needed decorated and updated. There was a film blocking the view from the table and chairs in the room overlooking the lake so had to stand to see the lake for bedroom window and a previous occupant had started to peel the film off the window so they could sit and see the view of the lake .There was stains all over the carpet so the really dirty. The bathroom requires updated very old fashion, the shower has tiny square cubicle and the shower head would stay up we had to hold shower up .
Loved the area.
