Being charged1,50 for extra bread when my microwaved garlic soup came with one miserable slice.... They've changed their menus 😖 No more monster sized chicken liver feasts.

Simple, clean and functional rooms. Great central location. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Their St Nikolai pub down the road is very atmospheric and also has lovely staff.

To modern standards the beds were not the most comfortable.

Although breakfast was good (probably too many options), a bottle neck if people trying to access food was a problem. The cold counter was behind cabinets that were too small for the food. You needed to hold your plate, open and hold the flap and then somehow get your food 🤔 HE WORST ASPECT WAS ALMOST OVERFLOWING ASHTRAYS ON EVERY OUTDOOR TABLE OF THE CAFE AND INNER COURTYARD IF THE LONG HALL NOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION AT CHECKIN OR WHEN TRYING TO ENJOY A DRINK

Breakfast was a bit shambolic. You are allocated a time, but the real problem isn't the number of people but the way that everyone is funnelled into a very small space to serve themselves. So there was lots of standing and waiting, but at the same time there were lots of empty tables. A re-think in terms of the serving area would leave a much better last impression.

I liked the theme of the hotel and the humour in the fit out.

No elevator

This was a pleasant place but did not have an elevator. The church bells across the street rang every hour. If you can't sleep through them ask for a room at the back.

It was very hot in the room, causes by a heat wave.

Breakfast was excellent, staff was nice and the rooms were clean and decoraties in a surprising way.

It would have been advisable to book a place to park in advance ,as this was full when we arrived and we had to park the car some way away

The breakfast, in its very quirky surroundings, was excellent with a very large choice of things to eat and drink. We had an enjoyable chat with “Oma” who told us lots about the history of “The old school” restaurant, Exempel Gaststuben.

A characterful hotel in the centre of Tangermunde, which is a wonderful place to visit. Excellent service from all of the staff and the breakfast was very good. I would recommend this hotel and Tangermunde for travelers.

Difficult to say. Hotel is located in historical buildings, which has been adopted for hotel purpose. Standard of the room was slightly below my expectations. The room w/o air conditioning. Hopefully was not too hot.

During check Inn staff was a bit rude: rooms are fantastic: restaurant closes early, no exceptions for arrivals after 20:30. Breakfast was okay , friendly staff in the morning. Location is wonderful.

There is a bait and switch happening here. They romanticize theme rooms and show pictures of the lovely main hotel building. When checking in the tell you you are in the "Annex" an older, not updated,, very basic maybe 2 star property not the 3 star they advertise. They two properties should be separated on Booking.com.

The town of Tangermunde is very interesting architecture and very easy to walk. Lovely views of Elbe River.

This family-run hotel is outstanding and excellent value for money. It is in an excellent position in this delightful town. The rooms are comfortable with nice bathrooms. The breakfast is superb with a huge selection of dishes, including some home-made produce. But best of all are the staff: so friendly and helpful. The business plan clearly centres on making guests feel as comfortable and well looked after as possible. I will definitely be back.
