How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It is a little away from the city centre, but the tram station is close, so you can reach the centre in 25 mins. Rooms were not heated up before arrival, so it was pretty cold initially.
Exceptionally lovely staff. They were responsive and waited for us to reach before closing the reception for the day. Ms. Pedra was lovely and suggested things to do, places to visit, and recommendations for restaurants. With parking spaces available at a cheaper price compared to other places, it was easy with a car.

It was too warm in the room and the room only had one small window, which made it hard to ventilate. They did provide some fans in the room but they were not very helpful.
Tasty breakfast, friendly staff, location was nice too.

The breakfast was delicious and at a convenient time frame. The location of the hotel is in calm neighbourhood with nice bakeries, shops, and a local market for a full german experience. The room is spacious

Breakfast was a little basic, could benefit from some pastries too.
I visited with my dog and I enjoyed the location in regards to nearby spots to walk her or go for lunch or dinner.

Convenient for access from the Autobahn, then for the tram / walk along the Rhine into Cologne. Very helpful and knowledgeable English speaking host. Excellent continental breakfast.

Cozy small hotel, wonderful hosts, great value for money. It is close to public transportation so you can easily get around, in a quiet part of the city so you avoid noise at night which is perfect. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. All in all I highly recommend it.

In the summer now you need aircon even I Germany, here missing

We were there during very hot weather and there was hardly any ventilation in our room. Difficult to get any air in through our window because of the outlook.

The sound isolation from other rooms wasn't very impressive. The room above ours probably had children who were jumping a lot and that made a strong "bass" sound on our heads.
It is an old hotel, but all considered it was good! Easy and quick check-in. The room was nice, very clean, comfortable and well kept even for the age. Bathroom also very clean and the water pressure on the shower was fantastic, even though it was a bit tight to shower inside a bathtub. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room has a classic, charming atmosphere.

Well, only 2 things. I was not really comfortable with the open door in the restaurant, cuz it was pretty cold for me at the breakfast and my husband did not like that there was absolutely no stil water for the breakfast, only with gas. Generally we face a problem in hotels with still water, specially western Europe, may be people loves there water with gas more than regular still water
We liked the front desk manager, we are not sure if it was the owner, but it was very very helpful man, kind and generally awesome. Actually the price range fully related to the services of hotel provided. It was our first time staying in 3* hotel and it was not so bad actually.

somewhat out of the way, but reflected in price. will be better when neighborhood construction is finished. owner/manager, Volker, was very informative, pleasant and friendly. breakfast was excellent! room was small but efficient and clean. parking behind hotel was important. highly recommended if looking for clean comfort and pleasant and authentic atmosphere, rather than luxury.
