Most of all that we told the hotel in our booking that we have 1 person in a Wheelchair and we had a wonderful handicap-accessible room with overhead shower fixed folding chair in the shower, space under the wash basin for your knees when you are in a wheelchair. Absolutely perfect

The hotel does not correspond to 4 stars at all. In reality it is a very mediocre and dirty hostel. At Reception you are greeted by unfriendly staff who look at the floor and not at you. The staff left a very unpleasant and negative impression. The staff at the Holiday Inn Lübeck are very tired people and as one of the employees in the restaurant confessed they are underpaid and hate their jobs. Not one smile, not one bright face, the staff looks at the floor and tries to escape as quickly as possible. Just a disgusting and nasty hotel not even worth one star. At breakfast is it killjoy, staff arrange an idiotic verification system - asking guests name and surname and checking your data on a piece of paper where someone has entered you in advance with a ballpoint pen. Then they find you there put a cross and let you in to enjoy a breakfast from this miserable hotel. The room for 200 euros welcomed us with bedbugs, out of order coffee machine and smelled like dust. Everything needed to be repaired and upgraded as soon as possible. The TV in our room was from 2006 so absolutely No YouTube or smartphone connection. No way. The swimming pool smelled like urine and musty with chlorine.

Everything was perfect!

It was a lovely hotel! The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and were satisfied with everything. We had a lovely large room with comfy beds and a beautiful clean bathroom with choice of bath or shower. The breakfast room had a super choice of seating and the buffet was sensibly laid out to avoid overcrowding. We could see our car in the (free!) car park from our room and we left it there as it was only a short walk into the old town, even for us!

The gym only has two bikes and two treadmills? (with so many places to walk or run to outside). The lifts are very slow!

The location is excellent for walking in to the old town and for the bus to Travemünde. The bar sells Echt Stonesdorfer and the food is good. The pool is a great feature, nice depth and temperature, just could've been bigger for the size of hotel, no real swimming with six or more people in there.

Great for dogs as I could have them in the breakfast area. Lovely and clean and very comfortable, also great for the city as you just cross a bridge and you are inside the wall.

The pool floor was extremely slippery and dangerous both for the kids and older people. We suggest they should provide slippers or put non-skid tape. When we mentioned it to the front desk they just responded it was 20 years old and up for replacement next year. Also there were no bath robes in the room and the changing rooms were flooded with water. No parking was available at the hotel.

The hotel was very very busy and they were under staffed. Breakfast was everything but pleasant as it was overcrowded and a real mess. We had a room facing the rear of the hotel and were woken up by delivery trucks at 06.00 on a Saturday morning…how is that even possible and allowed by the hotel….?

We had room 401, the hotel is good, the room was good, but I have given a very low overall rating because the a/c in the room was terrible and we couldn't sleep. I set the thermostat to about 19c (good sleeping temperature) but the room didn't get cool and it was impossible to sleep. I then put the thermostat to 15c... no difference, and then to 10c... no difference. The room was 26.1c. We only got some sleep after I had opened the terrace door at 4am and the room cooled down naturally by about 5am, and we then slept a couple of hours. Not a good experience. The breakfast buffet is over-priced.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, the food was very good and the service was even better. Short walk into the town centre.
