Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe rooms were lacking sockets. The WiFi was some of the times so slow that it wouldn't even load.
The location is good. It has good public transportation options and it was only a few stops from Alexanderplatz. The breakfast had many options and it was pretty good. It had a nice interior garden and the breakfast staff was friendly. Good breakfast hours. The room has strong heating system so it was perfect for a few cold rainy nights.

ChinaThe floor in the bathroom was not clean. My friend walked inside barefoot and when she came out, her feet were very dirty. And there was a obvious stain on the towel. Maybe the staff can check it more carefully next time.
Matthew at the reception is very friendly and he informed me as requested when our room was ready. The breakfast was good.

MalaysiaThe Bad: 1. Understaffed – Denise, Jana, Bookie (?) and other staff are super helpful. But only if you can find them. Since they have few personnel, everyone is multitasking. In fact, we had to wait for about 20 minutes before we could check-in and get our keys. In some ways, we were prepped by a mail warning us about low staff availability. So, the expectations set were matched 2. Windows that neither open nor close fully – Irritating during the day (when you want them fully open) and frustrating at night (when you want them closed) 3. Sensitive shower – We had scalding hot water or freezing cold water for shower. The children hated it 4. The lift – We got a room on the fourth floor. The lift was slow. By that, I mean glacial. Also, it’s croaking sounded like opening bass riffs of ‘Unforgiven’ 5. The entrance – Garbage on one side, random stuff on another. Two false entrances before you find the correct one The Ugly: 1. Weak wifi – This was our biggest complaint. The wifi was weak everywhere in the hotel premises. To have a decent video call, we had to switch to our mobile data. My phone postponed automatic updates for three consecutive nights because of deficient upload/download speeds 2. Lack of electrical sockets – We unplugged the TV so that we could charge our mobile phones 3. Dirty beds – No, the mattresses and bed linen was clean. The beds themselves were stained with The Lord knows what 4. Uneven beds – We had booked a room with four beds. Two of them had caved it, resulting in sore lower back in the morning 5. No segregation of garbage in the room – If you happen to get fruits, they go in the same bin as plastic and wine bottles
The Good: 1. Walking distance from train stations 2. Restaurant, coffee shops, bakeries and supermarkets close by 3. Very clean towels 4. Children’s play area 5. For the price we paid, breakfast was sufficient 6. The room was enough for four of us 7. Rest room near the reception. Just in case you want to go, after a long travel 8. Quiet location

GermanyRoom could have been a little cleaner when we got it (hairs in the bathroom and around the bed), also no room cleaning during our three night stay, not even to empty out the bins. Don't book if you need your room to be spotless!
Very friendly staff, location is perfect! Breakfast was good, very basic, but tasty and more than we expected at this price point!

Norwaythe shower we had did not have panels that would fully close the shower, which resulted in water getting all over the floor, and we could see water damage from before. the floor under the beds couldve been cleaner, me and my partner paired two of the beds since we didnt want to sleep seperated and underneath the bed wasnt great, but the rest was fine. also the lack of noise suppression from the doors made it hard a sense of privacy because you could hear people in the hallways very clearly
the staff was very friendly and helpful despite some language barrier. the beds were comfy and i loved the fan in our room the location was fantastic, a nice cozy little area within an alleyway away from the city.

PolandReception doesn't work really - probably because of the Covid, so it's mainly self-service. Rats around the hotel. Hotel is usually very quiet but during my stay some people (not sure if from the hotel) were moving furniture around 23:00 and behaved very loudly as they could not fit the furniture that was too big for the van they had.
Convenient location close to the public transportation and well linked with the rest of the city. Usually very quiet as windows look out on a small courtyard.
