Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyThe location was not great. Getting from Neuss central station to the hotel meant walking and checking Google Maps several times. Since I arrived late, I wish I didn't have to do that. Maybe it works better if you have a car, which I didn't. Not a deal-breaker, though
The staff was super friendly. Whether late at night or early in the morning, they were always helpful. Breakfast was fair, certainly not the best I've seen, but had everything I needed. The room was nice. Even though the rooms use keys, which is a bit outdated, the beds were comfortable, plenty of outlets, and a small desk from which I could work.

GermanyIf you have back problems, the bed will be a nightmare. With the uneven headrest and the low pillows, it was a very painful first night. For the 2nd night I got 2 extra pillows that helped a little but still the bed wasn't comfortable. The room is nice and so is the bathroom, both looked clean unfortunately the hotel has a dusty smell, that was the first impression I had. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything in other rooms and that also prevents you from having a good sleep. The breakfast was ok, nothing extraordinary but still it was ok. There was coffee, juices, teas, some cheese, ham and veggies alongside with yogurt, bread and some cereal and marmalade. In general I guess it's ok, I had higher expectations and maybe that's why my experience wasn't the best. The hotel is a few minutes walking from the bus and tram station so that's very convenient.

NetherlandsDon't expect Aircon or a mini fridge, but this is clearly shown on their booking.com listing and reasonably normal for Germany. I would have liked a charging point for my electric car somewhere nearby, but this is not quite as common in Germany yet compared to the Netherlands.
This is a nice hotel just outside the busy cities with excellent facilities, like free off street parking, a bar and a proper breakfast. Staff are always friendly and everything is kept clean. The free coffee is also a bonus.
