The safety deposit box was not functional. I had to complain twice to sort it out and the replacement was equally faulty. They refunded one night stay but I must say upkeep of could be better. Little things like the no tea bags ; just coffee and not replenished daily.

Noise. When floor above flushed in the toilet I could hear it in my room very very loudly. Then there was the construction. I came back to hotel after long event and wanted coffee. Neither lobby, nor restaurant nor the bar above sold me coffee and that was at 8 pm. I don’t understand. There was no phone in the room and weird lock on the balcony door that I could not open. Internet was great though. Top speed. Staff were smiley but not helpful.

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment, and the carpets in the hallways were bearing the marks (paint and other stains) which gave a first impression of an unkempt and unhygienic (definitely not welcoming) environment. Our upgraded room which was described to us as 'brand new' felt unfinished - no wall decoration, no seats, just a bed and wardrobe space. Unfortunately, it did suffer from a common challenge in hotels: room temperatures that were way too high, beyond comfortable with no regulation possible - even opened windows did not bring relief. The elevator capacity for such a big hotel was slightly inadequate, and required patience especially early mornings; signage / communication about some floors not being serviced by the elevator (and how to reach that floor instead) were lacking / inadequate. Overall, the hotel was good but not top-standard; the fine details that would have made it really outstanding, were missing. Value for money could have been better: compared to similar hotels in similar European cities, the price level was on the higher side in my view.

The view from the room over Frankfurt and beyond was breathtaking. Our executive room was spaceous, new and spotlessly clean. Nice big bed with good quality mattrass. Great walk-in rainshower in the bathroom. Breakfast was extensive (buffet-style), of good though not top notch quality.

We were asked if we would like a newly renovated room. We accepted. Disappointed that there was no bath (web site said all rooms have a bath). Room smelt very strongly of paint. Here is the big one, the smoke alarm had been covered in painters tape during the renovation. This tape had not been removed. I informed the staff member at the check in desk about this on Saturday the 4th. Nothing was done to change the situation.

In general everything was ok, friendly bar staff but less friendly check in staff. Great buss conections to city centre and walkable if the weather is on your side.

Too expensive parking. It is very convenient, safe etc. But still too expensive.

We requested twin beds in our booking, but the bed was made up into a king on our arrival. Staff were reluctant to ask housekeeping to split the bed into 2, even though this was an easy task and was part of our booking. We were part of a tour group leaving from this hotel - despite an information sheet being posted in the foyer just a few feet from the reception desk, staff rudely informed that they could not assist with details when we had to call from down town. AND - the air conditioning in the whole hotel was not working. It was quite warm when we stayed, so it was very uncomfortable.
