Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaThe street in which the hotel is located attracts a strange crowd. Very sketchy. I can imagine female travellers will not feel safe.
Surpisingly comfortable room. The staff was also extremely friendly!

New ZealandSuper close to the main station, the center and shops which is all a plus however we were 2 female travels and the street itself did not feel quite safe to us.
Nice big clean room, fridge, welcome bottle of water, enough towels etc.

United StatesIn the same street there is a sketchy spot (i believe there is a poker store). I didn´t go out during the night, so I had no problems.
Room was spacious, comfortable and most importantly super clean. Breakfast had everything needed, and the waitress was really friendly. As for the location, it is really convenient next to the train station, also there are many restaurants or snack places. Also, the staff was really friendly and polite. They helped me with all my needs.

AustraliaThe area didn’t feel great- some drug use/drunks on the footpath leading up to the hotel. Can’t be helped by the hotel, but it was a little unsettling walking alone in the evening.
The room was modern and really nice. Buffet breakfast was nice.

NorwayOf course, there were gatherings of people on the sidewalk outside that could seem off-putting, but all you had to do was cross to the other side and walk purposefully past. I did not experience any bother, and they seemed to go away in the evening - perhaps camping out in the park at Bremer Platz or other places of refuge.
This hotel met my expectations for my stay in Münster. I had read the reviews pointing out the negative aspects of staying in a back alley close to the railway station, but I had no significant negative experience with this. The position was very convenient for arriving and departing by train. Also, there is a very nice street right round the corner - Wolbecker Strasse - with many offerings in terms of food and drink etc. In the other direction, Wolbecker Strasse takes you straight into the old part of town - past the highly recommendable Town museum. This is free of charge, and offers a very good introduction to the many-faceted history of Münster. My room on the top floor was spacious and convenient. Some more hangers in the spacious cupboard would be appreciated. The breakfast was quite all right, about what you can expect from a budget hotel. Though when things were empty towards the end of breakfast time, like the orange juice or certain selections of charcuterie, there seemed to be no effort to replenish these offerings.

FranceThe neighbourhood.
It is s very nice hotel, but it is in a very bad neighbourhood. There were drunken people screaming and carrying on all day night and they left the street littered with all kinds of junk. It felt very insecure at all times.

GreeceYou would expect people in the hotel industry to be fluent in English. The staff was nice, but their English was not sufficient to fully communicate. Whilst the entrance was shut, there was an announcement stuck on the main entrance. The announcement was exclusively in German. I have had to stop people passing by asking to translate.
This must have to be the cleanest room in a hotel ever to be found...!!! Location was great. The internet was OK.

GermanyI travelled with my partner, so it was fine for me, but if i was alone i would be cautious walking to the hotel at night. the hotel was between a mosque and a casino, a very strange place to be. there would be groups of people on both sides of the hotel waiting for different things. they were not aggressive at all, but i was a little bit wary of the surroundings.
the room was very big, very nice and clean and cozy, the shower also was very nice.
