How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Uncomfortable beds. Small bedroom for a family of 4 for the price we paid.

Nothing really to complain about, maybe except the breakfast prices, which, together with the room price, add up quite a lot.
Very nice hotel. Located at the Rhine river, and you can reach the city centre in 15-20 minutes walking. There is an underground parking. The breakfast was very good.

There was black stain at the bottom of water heater, could not make an early morning tea.
Room was newly and modern decorated. It felt comfy, even a bit luxurious. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. It was spacious enough for even a family with two kids. Location of the hotel is also quite convenient. Paid parking option is very nice, price is comparable with street parking but parking lots are spacious enough.

Just to be clear the hotel is not directly on the water, but it is only a short walk to the Rhein river.
Breakfast was very good, many items on the buffet and very well organized. Hotel room was very clean. Takes only 20 minutes to walk along the river to the city center.

Very noisy. It was hot in the room and we opened the window but then we couldn’t sleep because it was noisy outside. The breakfast is a bit expensive.

The room was quiet, and comfortable for our family. The location was good - plenty of places to eat locally, close to the beautiful Rhine. The staff were super friendly. We didn't try the breakfast.

However, there is one area where I believe there could be room for improvement: the frequency of changing the bed sheets. While my room was impeccably clean upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice that the bed sheets were not changed as frequently as I would have expected during my stay.

From its prime location to its impeccable service, every aspect of my experience was simply exceptional. First and foremost, the hotel's location was unparalleled. Situated just a stone's throw away from Cologne's cultural gems, including the renowned Dom and the charming Chocolate Museum, it offered the perfect base for exploring the city's rich heritage. Moreover, being within walking distance of both the Koln Messe/Deutz and Hbf train stations made transportation incredibly convenient. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the hotel staff, whose friendliness and professionalism immediately made me feel at home. Throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met, providing exemplary service. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the sumptuous breakfast served at the hotel. From freshly baked pastries to an array of delicious options, there was something to satisfy every palate. The quality and variety of the offerings were truly impressive.

It didn't make sense to me to pay for the hotel's parking lot as a guest.
A Very Comfortable Modern Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food and breakfast were sufficient. The children's area will relax families travelling with children.
