Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusFloors are quite cold in the room and some air drafts due to air conditioner location. Soundprofing is quite poor for a 4-stars hotel - you can hear the doors shutting and foot steps all the time - not a catastrophy, but a thing to improve.
A nice representative of the Mercure group. The hotel is located in a nice green area near the Lindentaler Park with a lot of services nearby: a few grocery stores, artisanal ice cream shop, big toy store for kids, restaurants and fastfoods at the walking distance. ~25 mins to the airport with a cab, ~25-30 mins to the city center and main sightseeings by #7 tram. Overall it was a pleasant stay, the room was spacious and clean, equipped with a kettle, fridge and safe locker. Me and my family enjoyed the bathtube which is always better comparing to a basic shower. The selection of TV channels was surprizingly good. Didn't have a chance to use the swimming pool but I think it's good, I've seen a lot of happy faces coming from there :) Breakfast was decent and fair - great pancakes, nice selection of vegetables and fruits, omelette and eggs with some bakon and sausages available. The restaurant also has a kids menu, a nice selection of meat dishes, some traditional desserts and ice cream. Nice and steady renovated bar downstairs and a terrace outside - great place when the weather is good. GREAT RESTAURANT STAFF (greetings from Diana, guys).

GermanyI think it's very important to understand the location. Yes, technically there is a tram that connects the hotel with the city center. In fact, the schedule of this train is not that fantastic. I had to wait 47 minutes, and it was "on schedule". If you don't have a car, I would not recommend this location.
The beds were good. The rooms size is good.

NetherlandsNot much around the hotel except for groceries stores and shopping.
There are no rules for the pool and suna, and kids could freely enjoy it. Breakfast was scrumptious with some healthy choices, too. The tram connection to center was easy 5 min walk to tram station and 15 min tram ride to old and new markets

ItalyUnfortunately, we had a specific very bad situation there. I had booked a table for 2 in the dinner of the evening 24th December at 20:00. I was very explicit in confirming if they would be open this time (Christmas evening). They confirmed the booking, but when we arrived there, they said that they booked for mistake and the kitchen was already closed. We needed to have McDonalds for our Christmas supper, which made the experience in the hotel very frustrating.
In general, it is a good hotel.

IrelandLocation is out of sorts. It is a good bit from the centre of Cologne however it's easily accessible by tram and there are convenience stores close by but not much else in the area - you need to go into the centre of the city for more.
Good breakfast selection on offer to cater for all tastes and demands. The room was a good size with reasonable facilities and good toiletries. Definitely good staff and the hotel was kept very well.

GermanyThe Breakfast Buffet was great. The Room was clean, I was on the street side, which was a little loud, but it is a busy location. It is about 400meters away from a S-Bahn that will have you in City Center in about 15 mins. There is also a Grocery Store across the street.

United StatesI just wish we didn't have to book 3 rooms, but rather 2. (We have two adults, five kids).
The location was in a very quiet safe town- u nfortunately, it was further out from Köln than we thought and as we were on our way there, I wondered if a hotel would truly be anywhere in sight of the sleepy town!
