How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bed was a bit hard for my liking, and at least a vending machine in the lobby would be nice.
The hotel was close by to the central station, but a bit too far away from everything else, shopping and bars/restaurants. Big rooms, great service by the staff.

Several things didn't work in the beginning. For example, the microwave was not plugged in. It did seem like not many people use the kitchen. The TV had problems on and off and the internet at first did not work. However they fixed all of these things in short order. They had a sofa bed in the living room but wanted us to pay per night for bedding. There were 4 of us and we had initially planned for the couple to stay in the hotel and the two singles to stay one on the sofa and one on the double. Instead they rebooked the hotel room for 2 separate beds.
The rooms were large. We rented an apartment and a hotel room. The apartment had a small kitchen (no oven.) Comfy beds are provided. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly, very helpful and responded to all our requests. They spoke English and German well. The location is just on the edge of the old town so everything is very close to walk or you can take a bus to town. The town was lovely and there was plenty to look at. It would have been nice to walk the river if it was Summer time, but it was quite cold. I would stay there again.

Floor in room did not seem very clean. When we arrived there was a big dirt spot on floor beside the bed, as if somebody had spilled a drink. Cleaning personell don't seem to wipe floor properly after a guest leaves. Dirt spot was cleaned though after I requested to have it cleaned.
Breakfast was very good, big variety of cereals, seeds, nuts, fresh bread, chees, fresh fruit.... Staff very kind and helpful.

it was a little out of town and not many options for food in the evenings if you didn’t want to go back into the Altstadt. also the restaurant/bar was shut Sundays and Mondays!

the room was warm and along amain road with a lot of trafic noise. So for sleeping you close the windows and put on the airco. unfortunately te arco fals out automaticly after a few hour. So you automaticly wake up 2 times during the night sweating to put on the airco.

I had reserved a parking spot, but it was not available when we got there. There were free parking space in the nearby streets.
Breakfast was great, but a bit expensive. Our room was towards the main street and there was a lot of occasional noise with open windows. But windows were quite sound-proof and airconditioning was quite nice.

find a nail on the room floor, which makes me worry about the cleanliness. On the check out day, staff knocked our door in the morning and ask us what time we will leave. It was still far early from noon. Kid cod costs 30 euros.
The facility is good, with air condition. provide parking space although the space is a bit narrow and dark. Location is good.
