Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

very welcoming, warm and authentic. complimentary room upgrade and welcome glass of beer. shower was excellent, heated floor and crystal glasses. bed very comfortable and location excellent. breakfast and dinner service and quality above expectations.

United KingdomOur room was on the top floor so no lift for the final floor. The room was small and the sloping ceiling meant awkward access to one side of the bed. The ensuite was small also. Air con not the best - had to make use of the fan we carry with us.
Location - right on the market place Cleanliness Although initially the staff member checking us in couldn't find our booking (we added an extra night as a separate booking) and wasn't at all welcoming all other staff we encountered were very helpful.

the hotel is in a great location. I found it very uncomfortable and not nice that the reception is inside the bar in a corner of the bar counter. Room: Nice, bright room. For cleaning just have to say that unfortunately we found hair in the bathroom, on the floor in the room and a couple in the bed. Furthermore, if we are talking about post covid-19 hygiene, as the hotel points out, a written band should be placed around the toilet indicating disinfection. Finally, I can say that the breakfast is quite good and with more options. The staff extremely courteous and helpful. I conclude by saying that I liked it, but 250 euros for 1 night, with these "services" and these shortcomings, is obviously exaggerated.

SwitzerlandHotel Rappen is a lovely hotel. It’s decorated and furnished beautifully and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious aswell as the complimentary glass of champagne before our meal.
