How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

My window opened on the main street and it wasn't very quiet at night with the windows open. However, the noise was manageable with the windows closed.
Great location right in the center, and spotless rooms. I enjoyed the varied and generous breakfast offering. All of the staff I encountered were lovely.

Although large the bathroom seemed lacked safety considerations, e.g. a step threshold and slippery bath with no rails. The breakfast was copious but only average standard

The hotel is close to the old town and all attractions. Parking is 350 m from the hotel, 7.5 euros per day. Friendly and courteous staff, always ready to help. I recommend.

I asked for 2 single rooms together as I was travelling with my 18yr old son, however rooms given were on different floors, I had booked and made the request months in advance. Noise from other rooms were a problem, snoring, chatting and TV noises were clearly heard and kept me awake. Also no tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Superb location and views from the room, lovely breakfast selection and the room was comfy.

The second room we asked for was too far from the first one. The window in the bathroom faced a rather ugly view, and the second room was too small for three people. The breakfast was minimal and below the standards of a 3-star hotel.
Great location. It was easy to park at a nearby garage. The room was large enough for two persons and the windows were on the canal. The bathroom was large.

The hotel is very well located. Close to the main station and for exploring the city. The hotel itself is cozy and the room very nice. The breakfast was great and had everything you need. I would definitely come back.

Good location. We had dinner at Brauberger zu Lubek. You must visit this restourant with delicious food and local beer Hotel offer parking for car, but finally you must pay 8 eur/night

Breakfast is very simple, and it was not supplied fast enough. Extremely little bowl of scrambled eggs for a hotel service!! I make the same portion for my family at home. Bed was hard, no top-mattress. Nothing fancy about the room, very plain.
Quick check-in. Parking nearby with card from reception, only 8 euros per day. Hotel very close to centre.

Needed help accessing the wifi to which we then had to log back in unpredictably. Otherwise no complaints though worth noting that there is only short-term parking close to the hotel. But they have a reserved area in a car park a short distance on foot across the water.
A characterful hotel in an excellent location - inside the old city, on the waterfront opposite the historic gateway. We were unexpectedly given a suite so room was spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

No view whatsoever as we booked for three people (separate small room for our child which was actually brilliant) - rooms of that setup will all look at the neighbor’s flat roof.
