Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainNot many options for dinner in town, you need to drive for 10-15 minutes minumum if you want to eat something other than pizza
Very well located on top of a hill with a bit park at the back so taking the dog out was easy in the morning/night. Pet friendly and close to many beautiful areas to go hiking

SwedenThere were not many electrical outlets in the room for charging different devices. Taking out the key card to the room turned off the outlets, and the charging. The water in the taps was almost boiling. Really hot, careful. The temperature in the bathroom was also very hot - but on the other hand, I'd rather be warm than cold.
Great breakfast! Friendly and helpful staff. Living in a renovated "castle" from the 17-hundreds was pretty nice. Very spacious rooms and in general wherever you go in the hotel. It was really good to be able to grab a beer in the fridge in the reception, write what we took on a list, and then pay when checking out. It's also very close to a nice Restaurant called "Zur Krone". Parking was just in front of the hotel. Also, which we did not realize when booking, the connection to the "Point Alpha Stiftung" and how close it was to the "House on the border" - a nice surprise! It's only a five-minute drive from this really interesting historic site of the Cold War where you can easily spend half a day.

GermanyIn our rooms, which were on the ground floor, people were often passing by, accessing the garden. Beds were bit narrow. Finding something to eat in town is somewhat challenging.
Bright, clean spacious rooms, good bathrooms. Breakfast was very good and lots of choices. The food on the buffett was presented in rather small quantities and constantly replenished, which ensured that everything was fresh. This needs to be mentioned and lauded as this presents more effort on behalf of the staff for the benefit of the guests who have fresher produce this way. Free parking is in a special enclosure (not locked in any way, but this is a smal town). Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is right in the middle of town, but quiet.

NetherlandsA little bit boring town. Go here for nature, walking, cycling, sightseeing (former West/East German border) or purely for your rest
Very nice dogfriendly hotel. Nice views, big and clean rooms, breakfast is good and the area invites you to walk. Eisenach and the Wartburg in 40 minutes by car. Schwartzes Moor in half an hour. Oberhof in one hour. A number of small restaurant's very nearby. Can recommend Gaststatte Zum goldenen Stern down the street and Das Lammchen in Schlitzenhausen (9km)

NetherlandsNot the cleanest hotel room. Insects (mainly spiders) in the room on arrival already. High ceilings, so maybe the cleaner can't reach them. It was quite warm outside and in the room till late in the evening. With no ventilator available, we had to open the windows where lots of extra spiders, flies and whatnot were waiting to go inside. A ventilator and or insect screen at least for 1 window would be more comfortable. This may sound very negative, but the overall experience in the hotel was good however. There is probably an easy fix for this.
Nice and special location. Good breakfast with friendly employees. Luckily check-in after 16:30 was possible upon request. Room was spacious.

FranceThere was a big issue with the wlan connection. Not just for our room, but the whole hotel. Even sat at reception there was intermittent connection. Also the amount of dead flies/cobwebs were disconcerting.
Size and quality of the room was great. Nice and cool on an exceptionally hot day. Breakfast was very comprehensive. The hotel staff were very helpful
