Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsActually, not really anything. It takes a bit of searching/nitpicking, but if anything, a shower door, so that the floor in the bathroom doesn't get so wet. Other than that, nothing comes to mind really.
The personal was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious enough. Beds are in my opinion better than most hotels. Breakfast is good, fresh and enough to choose from. In the erea you will find some bars, restaurants. St. Pauli with a lot of bars etc. is easy to reach by taxi against reasonable prices. (about 15-20€ in May 2024).

PolandThe shower is not too convenient to use while the screen/divider is too narrow to protect the bathroom from water which spreads around the floor.
This hotel has a very convenient location especially for short term trips. The reception desk is great, the stuff is extremely friendly and helpful, offering free beverages. The room was clean with an every day housekeeping, it was cozy with a nice view out of the window.

NetherlandsThe area around is a bit dodgy as it is a central station area. The streets leading up to the station have gambling parlours and street prostitution at night. People won't bother you but it's good to know, especially when travelling alone.
Close to the station, very clean and comfortable room Nice and quiet sleep.

United KingdomThe towels were small, but if that's the only thing I could find as a problem then that's already good going. Central Hamburg has a lot of homelessness to it so don't be surprised from Central Station to the hotel to encounter many people asking for money. This is certainly something the Hotel cannot resolve themselves; more of a city challenge
Staff were superfriendly and responsive. It's been a long time since I had a PROPER coffee machine in my room so was happy to see Nespresso pods in the small kitchenette area. Things that could have been a problem were quickly resolved; I had a double bed but a single duvet which they sorted out...I ran out of coffee pods but they brought more up. Always there and always attentive.

GermanyI traveled with a stroller and I got a room that had some extra steps to go in, which made it kind of difficult with baby, stroller and luggages.
The breakfast is one of the best ones I have had in a 3 star hotel ever! The staff was really friendly and they helped me with a little incident I had in a very quick and kind way. The room smells clean and dry which is always awesome. I would definitely come back and recommend it. The atmosphere is very family oriented.

DenmarkThe only negative thing I noticed is the entrance door what was located directly under our room. It's automatic opener produced noticeable cracking noise, what some people may find disturbing, especially during early morning hours. If this is concern for you then you'd better ask for a room away from entrance door.
Hotel has great location in walking proximity of the central train station and "restaurant street" - very convenient. The room was surprisingly big. It also has mini kitchen corner with sink, kettle, coffee maker and small fridge. At reception you can pick unlimited drinks, like soda and low alcohol cider.

United KingdomLocation was fine just loud at time being close to main road and busy area of town. The local area is a bit rough but fine to walk through. Not the hotels fault for the area.
Room was very nice with lots of space. Very clean with AC unit if needed, fridge and kettle. Walking distance to main train station and town centre.

SwedenThe room was very noisy, not so much from the street but mostly from inside the building. Very early in the morning, there was a lot of noise from the hallway and the other rooms. We asked for earplugs and there weren't any available; the first night we got breakfast as compensation for our pour sleep, the other night we got recommendation to buy earplugs at the drugstore (= to solve the problem on our own). But in general it was really difficult to get a good sleep during our stay because of that. You can guess that the service at the reception was variating: one time great, another time next to rude. Probably we'll choose another hotel next time we visit Hamburg.
Great location, very close to the central station, although there was a lot of traffic and maybe it wasn't very safe for everybody. A lot of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. We got breakfast as compensation and I would say that it was ok. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

SerbiaThere was no shower door, so after the shower the whole bathroom floor seemed to be wet. Also, I was looking for something thinking I dropped it on the floor and when I looked under the bed, there was a sock, which did not belong to neither of us.
One big plus of the location is proximity to public transport and a railway station. The staff was welcoming and nice. Hotel itself looks good, facilities are fine. I really liked breakfast here, there were a lot of options, even for vegetarians. Even though the temperature outside was not pleasant, it was still warm inside and duvets were really warm

The location is very central. The hotel is very close to the central metro and train stations. There are kettle, coffee machine and mini fridge in the room. The hotel is very clean. The cleaning lady makes a very good job. There are also free drinks and candies as a treat every day in the reception which is very nice. Also, in our room there are free water and capsule coffee. The receptionist who are with glasses is very kind and helpfull. We are very content with the hotel.

DenmarkLocation is bad. The neighborhood is full of junkies and homeless people. It was scary to go to the hotel at night. Once we came at night and the front door of the hotel was open and we tried to close it but the door was opening itself as it was automatic. As there is no night reception, we couldn't do much. Bedsheets and cushion covers were covered in hair. Bath towels were not fresh. We checked the price of breakfast on the hotel website and it was said 10€, but when we asked at the reception, they told us 18€ per person. Apart from that it's very expensive, considering the level of the hotel, it's also not nice to show wrong prices on the website. There are several cafes 2 minutes from hotel on hansaplatz that offer all you can eat breakfast for 10€ which is very nice.
The room was spacious. It was nice to have a little corner with coffee machine, teapot and small sink. There are a lot of light options, as well as LED lights with control panel. Bathroom was clean. It was nice to have a little make up mirror.

GermanyThe wifi connection in the room and breakfast restaurant was quite slow and the signal quite weak. The cleaners have priority lift cards and mostly block the lift during their morning cleaning which lasts a few hours - we weren't able to take the lift in the morning because the cleaners were using them so much. Fine for us as we were able to use the stairs, but not ideal for folks not able to take the stairs.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, a great first impression when entering the hotel. Everywhere was clean, tidy and well presented. Our room was as expected, comfy bed and big enough. While the breakfast was good, it was very much a Mediterranean offering with little in the way of a Continental style. Location was great, just a short 2-3 minute walk away from Hauptbahnhof, and ZOB even closer. While the streets outside the hotel are bustling at night, the room was quiet and peaceful. Parking was in a secure, underground car park directly under the hotel and was fairly priced. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within just a few minutes walk.
