How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Room on the side of the street, so a bit noisy when the window is open.
Very friendly hostel with all the equipment you need. Super location. Possibility to park the car just across the street.

The stairs take some negotiating after a late night/early morning!
Comfy bed and a fair-sized room. I always look to stay in the Veirtel as I do most of my socializing and a number of my local friends live and work in the area. The Spanish staff member stayed in reception to allow me a late check-in.

Staircase toth floors are two narrow.

We had to climb 4 stairs to reach our -excellent- room.
Nicely located in Bremen ost near the venue where we went for a concert . Private parking was possible opposite the hotel for 10 euros.

My roommates came back for sleep a litter bit later.
The staff there are very nice, we had a nice chat. It worth to stay there for short time regarding the limit budget.

Location, cleanliness, excellent kitchen facilities( and buffet breakfast also available) Charging points at the beds and importantly also in the lockers. Able to check in via a key box even late at night. Nothing not to like really- not bang in town centre but really close to the” viertel” which is the liveliest part of town with too many bars and restaurants to mention and very easy walk to town centre, or for those who cannot walk very close to tram stops

The bathroom next to my room was very cold.
I stayed in a mixed dorm room. It was cute and clean. The hostel was well equipped and had a lounge and a kitchen. They were very responsive when I needed something.

My room was on the 3rd floor with stairs only, and it was quite narrow so probably not convenient for people taking luggages.
The location is quite convenient that within 15mins transport from city centre and has a supermarket nearby. Even once I walked to the main Bremen train station it is around 25mins. The room is big enough for one people (but not sure if people with luggage can be fully opened as I only have a backpack). The bathroom is equipped with basic supply e.g., body wash, soap, and hair dryer. Staff is nice and friendly.

The breakfast buffet could be made a little cheaper. There was lot of shouting in the corridors during midnight. Supposedly some students partying but can be ignored.
Polite and cordial staff. Clean rooms and bedding. Washrooms and toilets were clean. Location is also very nice and easy to locate

The full-sized towels had run out, so I had to use a small towel to dry myself off instead.
The staff were kind and accommodating. Rooms and bed sheets were clean. The area felt spacious, although 2 of the 5 beds were vacant during my stay.

There was only cold water, so taking a shower in October with only cold water is not that great. Wi-fi was terrible, was working from time to time in the room (on the reception all was good with it). Few hooks near bed would be great, to hang a towel and clothes.
Nice place to stay, cozy beds, separated from one another. not far from city center, many places to eat nearby.

The bed was a little soft for me.
Everything was great. The staff were kind and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking was easy in the private parking of the Hotel.

there was no lift and the stairs are very very steep, a struggle with heavy luggage up three floors.

Unfortunately, there was a group of high school students partying and occupying most of the hostel while I was there. Not really a hostel atmosphere.
In principle an alright hostel. Meets basic expectations. Good to stay of you just want a place to sleep

Location was a bit odd but was still a good walk to the old town.
The ladies working there were so bubbly, friendly and really open to conversation. I had some lovely chats with them. Awesome hot chocolate machine! I was addicted.
