I had a fantastic stay at La Casa Verde, and would happily return again. The location is very relaxing, next to the river about 25 minutes’ walk (or a $1.50/2 USD taxi) from the centre of Baños, and there is plenty of communal space to chill around. Johan was a brilliant host- he helped to book tours (without commission), and was always available for any questions. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Thank you again!

It was out of town ( but we chose that for some quiet) but not in the countryside. But easy enough to get to the centre about 20 minutes walk or easy $1.5 taxi ride.

The breakfast was the best we had in Ecuador. Lots of fresh fruit yogurt and juice and homemade goodies. And we had a room with a balcony with a lovely view where we could just chill. Nothing was too much trouble for our host.

Johan told us he is going to provide keys for the lock securing the front gate which will help make it easier to leave and enter without having to ask which will be an enhancement to what is already positively described in the "Rough Guide to Ecuador & Galapagos" as a relaxing eco retreat. We extended our stay at La Casa Verde to 6 nights due to my friend becoming ill prior to arriving there - Johan the owner was so so helpful in taking us to a local clinic for tests and translating for us which was invaluable - once better nothing was too much trouble for him in taking time to tell us about how best to explore the local area which really helped. There is a really nice vibe at La Casa Verde with an eco focus - there is a decked area under cover overlooking a fantastic garden and river below, just so peaceful. Finally the breakfast was amazing including freshly prepared fruit / yoghurt and home made juice, bread, pancakes etc. together with cooked eggs and local dishes which set us up for the day. Delicious breakfast. Johan was very helpful in helping us pick activities and restaurants. He helped me solve a problem with our next hotel and with my phone as well. The location was awesome as it was fairly quiet (we stayed in Banos during a festival so there was some parties near by but more quiet than staying closer to the town’s center) and the view of the river was beautiful.

The shower could have been better.

Johan was an excellent host. Always available to give tour advice. When we wanted to cycle, bikes were delivered within 15 minutes. When we needed a driver or guide he would fix it for us. Breakfast was always excellent and varied. The location was out of the centre but only a short taxi ride away. There were stunning views of the valley from the balcony. A good, calm location. It was also only a short walk from an excellent spa and a good restaurant.

A great place to call home while you visit Baños. It's just outside of town, assuring you have quiet away from the busy and close enough for a 10 minute walk or a short cheap taxi ride. The home makde breakfast every morning was yummy and filling. Johan booked all our activities making exploring Banòs very easy and hassle-free.

Wonderful stay in Banos! Johan, the host, coordinated everything from our airport shuttle to our activities during our stay. Lodge was comfortable and relaxing. Location was perfect for us since it was quiet and next to the river. Short taxi ride and you'll be in the center. Complete breakfast was delicious! Stress free vacation all thanks to the kindness and expertise of Johan!

The guest house is beautiful. You have a lovely view over the river. It's a bit out of Baños (about 20-25min walk) but because of that, you have a super quiet place. Johan is amazing and very helpful with everything, arranging trips if you want. And don't get me started about the breakfast: amazing! Beds are good, warm shower, towels, soap, everything is there.

Lovely guesthouse on the river - very quiet, helpful owners, amazing breakfast. It's a little far from the center of town but the owners will call a taxi and no problem to find one back. Within easy walking distance of a spa.

Our stay here was absolutely incredible. So much so that we even ended up extending our stay. The location is wonderful, it’s close to Baños but far enough away to be a tranquil getaway. The flowing river was a beautiful background that lulled us to sleep every night. The room had a wonderful balcony with a hammock for relaxing. Breakfasts were enormous and absolutely delicious. It was so magical and wonderful. Johan and his family run the hotel and they are extremely kind people. Johan works so hard to help in any way that he can with our stay. He helped us make decisions for our plans and guide us along the way. With his help we were able to plan safe excursions and those that were completely tailored to us! We changed our plans throughout thanks to his recommendations and had an incredible time. Without his assistance, our holiday would have been much different. The thoughtfulness is truly incredible. I absolutely couldn’t be any happier with our stay. It was amazing. Thank you!
