Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The breakfast was great. Our hostess is a fine cook and nearly everything served came straight from their garden.

AustraliaThe option of making a cup of tea or coffee in our room would have been appreciated.
Anna and her husband were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our included breakfast had a good selection of food, including fresh items from their garden. We opted to have dinner in one evening, and Anna provided a lovely meal. This is an old-school guesthouse in the best possible meaning. Another bonus - the guests there at the time were interesting and pleasant to talk to. If you are looking for somewhere to stay while exploring the nearby national park, Villa River Rose comes recommended. We would definitely stay there again if traveling through.

EstoniaThere is no a lot of free space for the parking cars. Though we found the place, I guess, that if the house is full of guests, it can be a problem. If not, it is okay.
I really liked the location near the river, a nice surroundings and nice view from the room. I really appreciated the hospitality of the place.

LithuaniaThe owner want to control everything. She speaks some english, her husband is quite good in german. But she still doublechecks everything and her word is the last. She asks to take your shoes off each time entering the building, what is not very convient if you have small children and have to run after them. If you check the prices in their page, they are not updated. So ask, they are slightly bigger. They do not accept cards or bank transfers, only cash. We ordered dinner and didn't know that, so last morning of our stay we agreed to make bank tranfer, but the owner didn't wanted to let us go and kept the gates shut until the trasfer was there. Any way after some discussion I was able to explain that international bank transfers take some time and on Sunday it can take even a day. Btw. We got double room near the steel stairs and it was very lousy, each time you could hear someone climbing up or down.
Clean place, near the river and Soomaa park. Big garden with some swings and slide for kids.

United KingdomNothing, it was perfect!
We loved our stay at Villa River Rose, Anna was a superb host and was very helpful. Her English is excellent ( despite what she thought!) and she was very helpful and friendly. The highlight of our stay though was the food,we hadn’t booked food in advance but she made us the most wonderful evening meal and great breakfast. We had a great time and loved the location, very handy for getting into Sooma national park and close to good amenities. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed and can recommend to other visitors, you will not be disappointed!

EstoniaThat we stopped at River Rose only for one night, wish it was more time.
Very welcoming owners doing great job to maintain their villa for travellers. We spent a very beautiful evening at River Rose. Managed to make fishing on the river for small fish, with one hook - got a dozen of roach, perch and bleak - this was fun.

AustriaWe felt a bit "watched" - for example when we wanted to get a second coffee at breakfast, it was made clear that it should be just one coffee per person.. a bit more generosity would not hurt.
The location ist perfect for those who want to explore the national park! The river is a highlight, amazing for an evening swim! Also, the breakfast is very good. The room is rather small, but very clean and well-equipped. We had dinner, which was great, just be aware that it is 15,- per person (reasonable for the quality, but still probably a bit more than you'd pay in a restaurant).

SwitzerlandWe are used to bigger double beds and we found the mattress slightly uncomfortable. But overall the stay was very nice.
Wonderful location right next to the river. Excellent base for walks/activities in Soomaa National Park. Very friendly hosts, they speak German fluently. Nice breakfast and dinner. Very clean. There are two restaurants/cafes in the area, one within walking distance. Kitchen closes early, though (~18:30).

EstoniaThe hostess was so unbelivebly bad that we started to think we were on the hidden camera show. The moment she figured out that one person in our group had drink beers earlier triggered her post traumatic stress dissorder from all the times when some other drunk visitor had broken something in that place and started treating us like we were Devils. It was strange because she sells alcohol at that place. She constantly interrupted our group conversations with some nonsense. The best one was when she stormed out holding the table linen witch was taken from under the pasta bake tray and asked "who spilled two pices of pasta on it? Was it that drunk guy?" She may assumed correct but really? And dont be suprised when you dont find enaugh food items on the breakfast table. She serves it small quantities so people wont eat too much. That is something she is proud of because she told that herselfe to one person in our group. And make sure you confirm where is the place where you can smear butter on your toast because otherwise she will treat you like a retard. Stay at that place on your own risk people! At very least you get the good story out of it.

EstoniaFirst of all - I do not like if the owners will always keep patronising how all ise done wrong. “Do not have a drink over sauna and who has made the linen dirty etc” I could give various examples. The rule of thumb it to give the keys and get out of the sight. Furthermore, the breakfast was a disaster. Basically not much to eat, non existing selection very limited amounts. One of the owners said - lets not put anything else on the table, those guys eat a lot. Comon - if I add up the base fee for accomodation, fee for sauna, breakfast, the amount for two person amounts to 130-140 euros. It is quite a some and normal breakfast would be expected!
Location was rated well as we did our canoing trip and it was good place to rest between two days. Sauna was nice and the whole house was quite cozy.

SwitzerlandSleeping in the attic felt too hot, stuffy, dark and a bit claustrophobic. My daughter liked it, but I had to go down in the middle of the night. We were supposes to have a king sized bed but probably got another room.
It's a cute place in a quaint location very close to a lot of great Soomaa attractions (walks, visitor center, etc.). There's parking and a nice big yard. My family liked the breakfast!
