Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PakistanHotel staff was very friendly and cooperative. Rooms were very clean and quite. The ambience was extremely beautiful. More restaurants were nearby, besides the Nile river. Recommended for travelers with or without family. Looking forward to stay at this hotel again in my next trip to Luxor.

United KingdomAlthough it didn’t detract from our stay, some of the fixtures and fittings could do with an update - eg plugs loose in the wall. The WiFi also was patchy in our room but worked well on the rooftop.
A lovely stay - we even ended up adding an extra night! Ragab was an excellent host, sorting all we needed for our stay in Luxor at competitive prices and with great service (all our drivers were great!). Big breakfasts (and big packed lunches!), spacious room with balcony, and an enviable location on the pretty West Bank near to all the relevant restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

PhilippinesI know it's Egypt and there is sand everywhere, but the rooms can use a bit more thorough cleaning - there were feathers (not 1 but 3?) in our room because there are birds nesting near the Aircon... bathroom had some stains, bed sheets had some stains. Other than that, okay.
Located in the much quieter side of Luxor's Nile, this is perfect for those visitors who do not want to deal with the hassle of Luxor's East Bank but still want convenient access to major tourist sites. The place comes with a well-maintained garden, a roofdeck, excellent bathrooms with great showers, a small balcony, and Wifi that works great in the main areas, not perfect in the rooms we stayed in. The breakfast was delicious but nothing extraordinary - some of the other comments are overselling it a bit in my opinion.

NetherlandsHad a great time at El Gezirah on the west side of Luxor. The accommodation is well cared for by Egyptian standards and met all my expectations. There is a nice terrace on the roof where you can have a quiet breakfast and good food, so it's a great hotel without a lot of fuss. Of the entire team, Ragab is the one who knows the most, without being pushy he has been able to help me several times. I will definitely return here next time. I can recommend it to everyone

ChinaThis is the best hotel on the west bank of the Nile, with the most hospitable owner and the best food. The owner treats everyone here warmly and makes us feel like home. This boss is the best person I have ever seen in Egypt! ! ! highly recommended!

Netherlands- sometimes there was no hot water, but that’s normal in Egypt. - the refrigerator in the room was very loud, so we turned it off. - it’s easy to confuse this place with the Gezira Garden Hotel - the direct surroundings of the hotel are a bit shabby.
- breakfast was very good! - the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated - it’s close to the Nile and to the attractions on this side of the river. - friendly and helpful staff - overall this is a great place to stay in Luxor! - it’s good value for your money

GermanyAs the area is quite dusty the floors in your room will be as well. But that has little to do with how they clean. Put room was cleaned every day. The only thing to mention is that the rooms are big but furniture is a bit older. Anyhow the mattress is comfortable and sheets are fresh.
First of all staying in West Bank is a nice option as many early morning activities are on this side. The Gezira Hotel is one of the best choices here as it is close to the water and the staff here is exceptional. They make you feel so welcomed and help you out with any request. Also the included breakfast is so much we had to order less the next day. For sure go for the oriental breakfast as all local food here is delicious. We also had dinner in the hotel three out of four nights and enjoyed it a lot. There were many vegan and vegetarian options and the mango juice is also amazing!

FrancePerhaps a bottle of water in the minibar in the room, a little more attention to cleanliness and the cleanliness of the tablecloths in the rooms would have been appreciated

GermanyThe bathroom was small and congested.
Clean rooms, very nice people who very kind, friendly, understood our needs and accommodated us very well. We arrived very late in the night and the kitchen was closed. Upon request, they provided us some bread, jam and butter. If we went back, i would choose this hotel again. They've 2 hotels close to each other, one more modern than the other. We stayed in the one that was older.

EgyptThey are loud at reception and you hear everything. It sounds like they're arguing big time, but sometimes in Arabic, they're just talking normally. I never know if they argue or just plain talk.
The staff and the restaurant. In the evening, the restaurant is like paradise with a view over Luxor on the other bank. Many people, foreigners & Egyptians alike, come for dinner or just a beer after work. The food is delicious. This morning I went by taxi to the Valley of the Kings, I asked for it at reception. The driver was punctual at 5:30, meaning I was on-site for the opening and could enjoy being there alone in the tumbs at sunrise from 6 to 7am. The taxi driver was respectful and never tried to scam more unwanted services or backschich out of me. The staff prepared a breakfast box to take away, which at first I didn't want, but was happy to find and eat in the taxi. In the afternoon they let me have a nap, shower and pack my luggage, checking out at 6pm to take my train to Aswan.

BelarusAC makes quite loud vibration when it's working which might be annoying if you want to sleep in calm. There was no hot water in the bathroom. But because of the heat outside this wasn't a big problem. Water drain in the bathroom is not good and water pressure is weak.
The stuff is really friendly and the location is near the public ferry. It's a really good place to stay on the west bank, there are some great restaurants and cafes nearby. We enjoyed our stay here. Thanks 🙏

HungaryCan get easily confused and mixed with the similar name Gezira garden hotel.
We had a really good experience with this hotel, we can only recommend to anyone who would like to have a great time in Luxor. The hotel is close to the ferry, so the east bank can easily reachable. The room was big enough for two people and well equiped. The breakfast was also great. The people at the hotel was very nice and helpful, especially Ragab our host. We asked for some activity and he managed for us at a very good price. Overall we are very satisfied with our pick.

DenmarkWe really enjoyed our stay at El Gezira Hotel. The location is super, just a short walk to the ferry to the East bank. The place is a bit old but it was spotlessly clean and we felt very comfortable staying there in all ways. The staff was very kind, warm and welcoming, especially Mr Ragab in the reception was extremely helpful with arranging trips in the area, transportation to Hurghada and did what he could to make our stay very pleasant and comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel.
