How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Ten out of ten! Very comfortable bed and pillows . Kitchen was just perfect and location right I. The heart of the city center. Beautiful property and owners .

The only thing I would suggest is lighter blanket on bed during warm weather.
It was spotless, had well-stocked kitchen with all appliances, quiet room, comfortable large bed, washing machine(!) with detergent, and perfect location. Carmen was right there when I checked in, providing me with a map of the town and suggesting a place for lunch/dinner where I had a delicious and memorable meal.

2 night stay post walking the Camino Portuguese Location in small alleyway with little sea view Modern new apartment with washing machine, fridge, plenty of storage, water bottle provided and lovely linen and towels. Spotless - very clean Great shower Balcony was great for drying laundry or sitting with a wine. Friendly hosts 5mins Walking to the beach Restaurants and supermarket nearby

Nothing I disliked. My apartment was on the Ground Floor(which was stated in the listing before I booked). Heard some mild street noise but nothing that kept me awake or disturbed my privacy!
Wonderful place to stay in Muxia after walking the Camiño de Santiago. The location is perfect, a stones throw from the city center (it’s a small town) and short walk to the Church at the end of the Cape with the view of the sunset. - Thoughtful of renters & included nice to have items like Water, Milk, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Laundry Detergent when I arrived. - Bathroom was lovely & included a dehumidifier never got humid or steamy. - Check In was relatively easy - messaged property via Booking & then Carmen (?) met me out front when I arrived. She thoroughly showed me around & shared instructions for the washer / dryer which was helpful!

Very kind hostess. Everything was thought of in the apartment - it was very cozy. There were towels, also in the kitchen, sugar, tea, coffee and water. Nothing was missing! Big bed. Comfortable sofa. Nice balcony. Also very comfortable for three people. Great!

Nothing, it was perfect.
Perfect location, very well designed apartment, spotlessly clean, with a nice little terrace outside. Very good value for money, wish we could have stayed longer. Carmen and her husband were very nice. We were able to do our laundry in the apartment after days walking the Camino - a real bonus.

The hosts were extremely helpful in every way. They were available to answer questions well before I arrived and made themselves available any time after check-in. The accommodations were very comfortable, very well kept, modern and very clean. Thank you for making my last day on the Camino such a comfortable one!

great place to relax after walking the Camino, the owners are so lovely and kind bed fantastic- one of the best in 8 weeks in Spain great shower the unit has a washing machine which was very useful

Excellent location, super clean, and really nice bedding! The walk-out balcony wraps around 2 sides. There are many restaurants and stores right outside. Great place!!

Very nice recently renovated apartment, center of Muxia and possibly the comfiest bed i slept in while in Galicia. Washing machine in the kitchen which was very handy and little balcony to dry once washed. The hosts are a lovely couple who have the butchers shop below.
