Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyUnique hotel designed by a talented Spanish architect. Great service, comfort and views. This is not the average tourist spot. One needs to have the curiosity to find such a special offer in a special location.

Bonaire St Eustatius and SabaAs we had some high expectations based on the reviews we were quite disappointed. The rather small rooms. Bed was not comfortable at all. Bit of mold on the wall in room 5. There was also quite some noise from the busy road below. In the other room we rented (room 1) water leaked from the shower under the wall into the bedroom. Luggage ended up in a big pool of water... WIFI is really bad. In the rooms non existent. A simple quality mesh router set would solve it. Beware of the breakfast. You will get nothing if you have not specifically asked for it the day before. The owner simply charges you 10 euros for a cup of coffee and orange juice. Calling it breakfast.. Better just do your own groceries in the town nearby. Although we booked for 2 nights we decided to check out and leave the other night for what it was (2 rooms). The polite cleaning lady had to phone the owner for the check out. The owner reacted that we had to pay for 2 nights, as if we asked for any refunds, which we didn't. Gone was her friendliness of the day before. We just did not want to stay another night and check out. It would have more hospitable to ask why we left, but it seems she was not disturbed at all and more worried about the money. This place is way too much about getting money on extra's. It could be unintentional but it is not a nice feeling at all. Anyway the place is overpriced and the extra prices are just way too high. This hotel is probably the best in the area but with some better commitment and investment it could have been great.
The building has a very nice design. The views are spectacular. Ground floor also very neat. Nice garden just in front of the building. Good and safe parking. Rooms were clean. Nice balcony. Staff was nice.

AustriaIn the shower there is a window without curtains or any other cover so the neighbours can see you while showering. There are some Barking dogs in the neighbourhood. Breakfast: starts at 9.30; limited choice, but good quality;
Friendly staff

United KingdomThe manager was great, incredibly hard-working, attentive, and fast, but there was no running water in our room during the majority of our stay (which is why she had to run to the hotel twice -- once before bed, and again when we woke up -- just so we could brush our teeth and have a glass of water). To her credit, at both reports of no water, she was at the hotel as fast as possible to remedy the situation. Not being able to flush the toilet or take a shower would be fine if the hotel were priced at half of what we paid (we do enjoy some rustic vibes!), but considering this inconvenience, combined with the remote location, the hotel felt a bit overpriced. It would've helped somewhat if a discount had been offered for the trouble (even if just breakfast compensated), but alas: we left having spent far more than any other booking on our two-week road trip, with little to show for it, aside from a lovely setting. I'm sure if the hotel were currently capable of offering everything their website showcases, it would be an incredible experience, but at the moment, one might find better value elsewhere.
The breakfast was great -- they offered everything from avocado toast to eggs and jamon, along with a gorgeous fresh beetroot juice and well-made coffee. Service was warm and excellent, and the location and space was incredibly peaceful.
